Ann who?
Is Annie a euphemism for Santorum?
My mom was born in 1924. Wonder what the laws were then.
this cruz/birther issues is hilarious… i was wondering how the republicons who continue to question obama’s legitimacy were going to deal with cruz’s even more questionable legitimacy, since his mother was actually out of the country when he was born; and obama’s was in friggin hawaii…
So I don’t suppose anyone will ask her to, you know, explain the total contradiction between her previous position and her current one? (Rhetorical question – like I said, “I don’t suppose.”)
It wouldn’t matter. His mother was American.
That is what makes this so rich. We endured years of birther nonsense for nothing.
These right wingers are natural born loons. Hucksters all, and the rubes lap it up.
If you had been the “point” would probably have been moot anyway.
Except for waking up. Yikes.
When I was growing up in the 50s and 60s, the term natural born citizen meant someone born within the boundaries of the US or in a territory owned by the US.
Having an American citizen as a parent made you a citizen, no matter where you were born—as a matter of statutory law—but not a natural born citizen.
I’m still trying to figure out when it changed.
Sen. Cruz just addressed this birthplace issue.
Presidents Goldwater, George Romney and McCain were all born outside the US.
Further, she’s not legally correct and trafficking in the same nonsense as Obama “birthers.” Cruz could have been born in Kenya, on the Moon or in Atlantis and all that matters is that one of his parents is a “naturally born” American citizen, which is completely different than the ill-considered nonsense in the 13th Amendment that grants citizenship to the children born in the U.S. of alien parents.
So if I understand you correctly your point is what do we know about the mother’s stay in Canada?
That was a great article. Thanks for posting it.
I tell ya…the GOP really is like swimming in a Shark Tank. I wonder who sicced Ann on Ted?
She stopped talking for a moment.
Down. Living “Down” to the stereotype.
McCain was “military brat”, the others were born in US territories that eventually achieved statehood…
Huge difference from Teddie’s situation, unless of course Alberta secedes from the Dominion and becomes the 51st state…
In the next 10 months…
Well put.
I love it when they turn on each other;
a little taste of their own medicine;
