Discussion: Cotton, Perdue Attended Trump Meeting But 'Don't Recall' Sh*thole Comment

Neither of these peckerwoods are up for reelection until 2020. By then who will remember their selective memories and fungible morals?

Apparently they’re synonyms.

They have demonstrated conclusively that their memories qualify them for Cabinet level positions.

Or maybe there wasn’t enough between the ears to slow it down.

When media showed the picture of the attendees, I knew Senators Cotton and Perdue would either deny hearing Dotard’s racist vulgar words, or they agreed with the slur.

Cotton was in the Army not the Navy.

That’s some million dollar deflection right there. Guess that’s why they get the big bucks…

GOP assholes.

It takes a touch chicken to have that much Cotton in your ears.

Apart form “I don’t recall” being the Gold Standard get-out-of-perjury card, isn’t their very fulsome recounting of the contents of this meeting what the lawyers call a ‘negative pregnant’? The gentlemen doth protest too much.

I’m sure they hear the same talk around the old GOP lunch table. They hear it all the time ; seemed completely normal.

Love that “accusation” comment, they’re always, and I mean ALWAYS, workin the refs.

And for such a bunch of standup real Americans who talk straight and shoot from the hi, they sure are a bunch of mealy mouthed truth dodging cowards.

I know, I know, they can’t tell the truth because then people would know that they really are reading from a cookbook. But still, what a bunch of wankers.

Exactly, and did they “forget” Sen. Lindsay Graham “saying his piece” directly to the president, which Graham says "The President and all those attending the meeting know what I said and how I feel. " ??? A journalist needs to ask both of these guys.

Sure… just two racists covering for the racist Donald.

Racists defend a racist.

In other news, water remains alarmingly wet.

That’s okay, just as long as those lying assholes are caught and someone knows those lies are there. I’m good to go.

To use a criminal analogy, Cotton and Perdue are accessories after the fact. Durbin’s account of what Trump said is true, Trump falsely denied it, and now Cotton and Perdue are helping sustain Trump’s lie.

I know it’s too much to expect these two to condemn Trump’s remarks, as any decent person would. But I would be happy if they just affirmed reality. I’m not asking Cotton or Perdue to express an opinion, just make a factual statement acknowledging that what happened happened.

For anyone who has read Hannah Arendt’s Origins of Totalitarianism what we are witnessing now is straight from the book. When you can get people to make a conscious choice to deny reality you have a necessary precondition for authoritarian rule. The step after that is for the denial to become reflexive rather than conscious.
