Senator Tim Scott (you know, that Republican Senator who, for some strange reason, always stands out in a room full of Republican Senators) of South Carolina has already stated that fellow South Carolina Senator Lindsey “I better get those cha-cha heels for Christmas” Graham (who, apparently, is in the Federal Witness Protection Program since yesterday) has confirmed that Trump made those notorious remarks:
Tim Scott said he talked to fellow S.C. Sen. Lindsey Graham about Trump's "shithole countries" comment and Graham confirmed to him Trump said it.
Graham, Scott said, told him the reported comments are “basically accurate,” Post and Courier reports. https://t.co/vOyWwN7T1c
Indirectly he has already confirmed it, by telling Sen. Scott that what was being reported was not untrue - and Scott (who was not there) has said that on the record per Graham’s statement to Scott.
With comments by Cotton, Perdue, Trump and FOXnews, they’ve pretty much resolved things in the minds of the Republican base. They made Huckabee-Sanders job easy for her today - if she appears.
“You hurt the ones that I love best and cover up the truth with lies. One day you’ll be in the ditch, flies buzzin’ around your eyes.” Bob Dylan, Idiot Wind
I would not expect cotton nor Perdue to be especially truthful in any case. They likely had their fingers in their ears the whole time. It’s instructive that we have not heard from Lindsey Graham who was also there and he hasn’t grabbed the nearest microphone to denounce all the fake liberal news outlets and their fawning over welfare queens.
I’m sure that Kevin McCarthy and others yet to speak up are bravely attempting to determine whether there are in fact audio recordings before going on the record.
“I don’t recall” is what you say when you’re worried there’s a tape. Everybody has a recorder in their pocket. Why on earth would anyone go into a meeting with the Stable Genius without recording it?
