Discussion: Cory Booker, John Lewis To Testify At Sessions Confirmation Hearing

“The three black lawmakers will testify on the third and final panel of the hearing, a move that upset Democratic lawmakers. Democrats argued that it is customary for sitting lawmakers to testify before outside witnesses are called.”

Not to worry. Rep. Lewis is used to dealing with this kind of treatment, and still getting his point across.

GOP: “I don’t understand it. We shit all over black people on a regular basis, and yet they don’t vote for us. Why?”

GOP: “OK you folks…move on to the back of the bus.”

Actually, this could work out well. Their words will be the last ones heard, and they will be powerful. Knowing the GOP they may have to testify in the dark, though.

‘Booker would be breaking a long tradition of senators refraining from testifying against their colleagues’…are you kidding me? ANYBODY in that body is gonna care about THIS when Trump is appointing, not allowing vetting, trying to shove through the confirmations and is PRAISED for ‘doing things differently’? If a racist, bigoted, homophobe is trying to be the Attorney General of the Land maybe it’s about time that the ‘old boys club’ doesn’t reign supreme.

Go for it boys, make him uncomfortable as hell.

This is a big deal - senators don’t fink on senators - it is one of the most exclusive clubs in the world. Cory is taking a shit right on top of the wedding cake and I applaud him for it.

Added: Also, Jeff Sessions sounds like a jazz musician. I think they should call him Jefferson Beauregard Sessions every chance they get with the same derision that Republicans used when they overstressed the Hussein in President Obama’s name.

It also used to be that senators didn’t campaign against their colleagues. That tradition was broken in 2004 when Senate Majority Leader Dr. Bill “I can diagnose a woman I’ve never met just by watching her on video” Frist actively campaigned against his counterpart, Minority Leader Tom Daschle.

I wholeheartedly agree with the “Jefferson Beauregard Sessions” thing.

Traditions are meaningless now. Only losers follow them.

As for speaking against colleagues, Vlad says it’s okay, and, according to Trump, we’re to emulate Russia now.
