Discussion for article #243424
As horrific as this seems, if those were the only gun deaths in the U.S. on that day, it would be considered a “light” day, with far fewer gun deaths than the average, which is closer to 100 per day.
We need a new version of the Steppenwolf song, with the lyrics depicting Wayne LaPierre as a gun pusher, because that’s exactly what he is. Someone can do this, someone has the talent to reinvent it. “Goddamn the Pusherman.”
Approximately 60% of gun deaths are due to suicide. That’s another unspoken tragedy in America. In fact, more whites die by gunshot suicide than by gunshot homicide.
Very interesting article on Daily Kos, January 2014: http://bit.ly/1m0jXGn
Not that the GOPers care who it was that was killed and wounded.
Condolences to all.
Republicans make it easy for terrorist to get guns. They say that it is the right of anyone to get a gun. Well, that don’t sound right to me. It is not a right that guns should be sold to anyone. There should be gun control. We should all be scared that terrorist have figured out how easy it is to buy guns in the US. We need somebody to do something about the damn guns. When you hear almost every other day somebody is killed by a gun, and now we know that the terrorist have figured out how guns will kill many people at one time. That is scary, and something should be done on gun control so the terrorist can’t get their hands on guns. If people need to give up some of their gun rights to keep terrorist from getting guns than we should do it.
Holy crap. Here’s one of the victims. Wonder if this is the person the gunman had a problem with, or an argument with, when it was reported he left and returned with his wife for the full assault at the Xmas party.
Sadly, Mr. Thalasinos was something of an unabashed Islamophobe and a Jew for Jesus adherent (aka Not a Jew). Its truly sad he lost his life, however looking at this man’s background where he’s described as offering needling comments online towards Muslims on a somewhat regular basis, there may be more here than meets the eye.
Another interesting article about Syed Farook and his background growing up:
