All of this leaves me convinced, he is there for a specific purpose or set of purposes. The Republicans are not subtle in their thinking or planning. Obviously running cover for Trump if things really ramp up are one. But I worry about others. The one thing Republicans forget, since they love to say things believing because they did it is on the record and equally covers them, a wrong is a wrong. You can gussy it up, but it is still what it is. The thing with Brett, after listening to this, watching his belligerence and refusal to even directly answer yes or no on an FBI investigation, there is more. Likely a lot more and a professional investigator with the proper pointing may find what has bypassed them before. The real problem beyond all of this, if Brett is corrupt or of lesser character, he can end up being compromised by anyone with the goods on him. With his connections in the younger days, it could be more than a few. This guy should never be a justice.
They need the votes to be as early as possible so they can have enough time to try and recover from getting him on the court.
