Discussion: Cornyn: No One Covered Under Medicaid Expansion Will Lose Coverage

Really? Do these people think we are fucking stupid"? The expansion is tied into the ACA.

As soon as they can, Texas and the other holdouts will join the Medicaid expansion, and blame Obama for the delay. Heros, they are.

No they live for the suffering. MO didn’t expand, and now we are all red top to bottom. I just wonder if there will be any mass exoduses to the states that expanded?

Mark my words: As soon as PBO’s name is off the legislation, they’ll expand Medicaid, and flood the airwaves with “It’s about Damn time!” Ads praising themselves and trashing Obama.

Rural white working poor Texans will name their children Vladamir for generations.

And remember: I predicted HRC would get 330 electoral votes.

Which means nothing in Texas because he and his golden shower butt buddies refused the medicaid expansion.

GOP watched what happened to Wall Street post-recession and decided Too Many Promises to Fail is a winning strategy.

And, the hope is we’ll expand access. Right now 30 million people are not covered under Obamacare."

Total BS.

As KDrum points out, this is meaningless. He doesn’t say what “coverage” people who now have Medicaid via the expansion will end up with. http://www.motherjones.com/kevin-drum/2017/01/sen-john-cornyn-promisedabsolutely-nothing-today

No. This is about money. The top four hundred earners in the United States ( people who make at least five-six times as much as LeBron James) average $7 million a year in Obamacare taxes.

That’s the Republican constituency. Not the guys in the pickup trucks.

And if the people covered under the current medicaid expansion do lose coverage, Cornyn’s response will be

a) “I shall spend the rest of my term campaigning to get their coverage back, and then retire from politics to atone for my part in harming them.”

b) “Sucks to be you.”

If Cornyn were a Democrat saying “No one covered under Medicaid expansion will lose coverage,” he would be accused of Republicans of advocating for SINGLE PAYER.

So he said as his voters descended on him with pitch forks

Yeah, I already lost my insurance once during “Medicaid Expansion.” Now I’m covered again, and then the state privatized all the Medicaid providers. I just lost one of my healthcare providers because she moved to a new private practice in a different network and the privatized Medicaid providers are dragging their feet approving her paperwork. They will probably never authorize her, because they figure the Medicaid Expansion program will get axed soon.

I tried calling Cornyn’s office today to “discuss” healthcare, as well as Jeff Sessions for AG. His mailbox was full. He and Cruz both have automatic answering on their DC office lines so that none of their staff have to talk to the hoi polloi. Only those people who matter have the direct dial numbers.

Because the Self-righteous Republicans of Texas never tire of asking other people to die for Republican “self-reliance”, medicaid expansion was never enacted here. We have experienced increased maternal mortality and morbidity. John Cornyn is a prick.

John Cornyn. Supposedly, he represents folks like me. Call him, you get a “yeah, I’ll pass that on to the Senator” (not even a thank you). E mail him and you either get a BS response or no response. Our Texas NEA representatives lobbied him for years on two Social Security issues with the response that he had his own ideas about how to address SS. Yeah, he’s my senator, and if he tells me not to worry, I start to worry.

I will bet the farm that if you were either a big donor or something like a county administrator or Republican state senator from Texas you wouldn’t be calling that dead phone number on his website. You would have a special phone number to one of Cornyn’s aides. And, if you were a REALLY BIG donor, you might even have Big John’s personal cell phone.
