Discussion: Cornyn: 'If There Is' A Plan To Eschew Shutdown 'I'm Not Aware Of It'

The shutdown IS his plan. Flynn gets sentenced today, right? So what better way to suck the oxygen from those pending revelations than a shutdown coming Friday?

Even if the shutdown gets cancelled last minute, the looming threat means that the talking heads on TV will increasingly be chatting about that instead of the latest Mueller news.

If Democrats and 60% off Republicans pass a bill it would be veto proof. That is the simple solution. I bet Trump wouldn’t even veto it.

Congress has until Friday to pass a spending bill, or a partial funding bill, but Republicans know they don’t have enough Democratic support for the $5 billion Trump wants for his border wall.

Wait a minute … this whole FUBAR charade is happening in the current congress - the one where there is
a GOP majority in the House - and - a GOP majority in the Senate

long before there is any mention of this ill-conceived stupidity lacking “Democratic support” (- as - duh - it should )

there must be absolute blunt & explicit discussion of the fact that the GOP majority does not have enough of their own ranks lined up behind this stunt …

Democrats have made it clear that this is a really really bad idea - and they want no part of it - and if the GOP wants it - it is up to the GOP to muster their own currently available resources - but they can’t … because there are members of the GOP who also think this is stupid …

Exactly. What they’re really doing is hemming and hawing and checking their poll numbers hourly to see who would be first to get the blame. Seems more like a game of intra-party chicken at this point…which is why McTurtle should get the ultimate blame. His bootlicking, enabling bullshit has been the sole reason tRump feels empowered…and why we can’t have nice things. Its McConnell that should get blamed. He’s fucking evil.

Btw, haven’t heard a thing about Elaine Chao in her position as Sec. of Transportation in a whole two fucking years, have we now? Somehow she’s managed to slip through the cracks, escape all attention from the media and skate by when every other agency head has faced scrutiny. I find that remarkable. And apparently, she’s not planning on leaving after the first of the year like so many others are. Life must be good for the McConnells. I guess that second income comes in handy in their household.

ETA: Oh, here’s what Chao’s been up to…Like I say, life must be good for the McTurtles.

Btw, this woman was picked for her job only a couple weeks after tRump won the electoral college. She’s basically been on Easy Street at our expense.

Gesundheit.

No fucking way will Mueller news get passed over because of a government shut down. We’ve had threats of government shut downs in the past, will continue to have threats of government shut downs in the future, but sentencing for a 3 star Lt. Gen. that actively worked for a foreign government all the while becoming the National Security Adviser to the President doesn’t happen every administration.

Cornyn: ‘If There Is’ A Plan To Eschew Shutdown 'I’m Not Aware Of It’

What was the question they asked Cornyn?

Was it: “Can you list ten things you’re not aware of”?

It’s called scandal fatigue. Flynn is only the latest guilty plea of how many now?

When an event becomes the norm, the media gets bored with it quickly.

BS, I don’t know what media you’re following but this one has legs, this one is important, this one at it’s heart is a threat to our sovereignty. Yes Joe Schmoo can’t keep up, but there are plenty of people who do care.

The “scandal fatigue” is real for KAC, SHS, and even the President himself and his lie du jour, this story involves a career military man, a man that was in military intelligence, a man who was decorated, so there are so many pieces of this that will become important.

He knows it is a word that his base does not know. And that they won’t ascribe any anti-Trump implications to their senator if he uses it.

No, that would require their grifting lazy asses to work every day. Once a month is probably the limit.

Pretty sure “Eschew Shutdown” is another example of a talented headline writer at work.
