I don’t think it’s out of the question that Mueller is looking at these types of statements and threats by Trump, and deciding whether they will lead to charges.

Not just inappropriate Mr corker…it amounts to illegal acts. The firing of Comey was an open and very public attempt to shut down the FBI investigation into the Russia affair and it is on its face obstruction of justice. Or maybe I don’t understand what firing an FBI director who is in charge of an investigation into a president that will lead to impeachment of that sitting president is. To my simple mind it’s obstructing that investigation.

Any replacement still has to get past the Senate and do so without stepping into the kind of perjury hole that Sessions did. Can you think of a Trump-friendly replacement smart enough to do that?

Nope and the senate has said it’s not entertaining any new AG appointments for confirmation this year and they won’t confirm anyone who would fire Mueller.
I know they’re snakes, every one of them, but I actually believe them on this.

Good point. However, this is realistically Trump’s only way to shut down Mueller and I’d be very surprised if he didn’t make an attempt. Trump being Trump it will of course backfire horribly.
