Bob who?
Wow, that was powerful.
Too late.
The cork is out of that bottle, and the gas is flat. No profile in courage here.
If it isn’t the GOP’s #2 concern troll. #1 will always be Jeff Flake. And what are you going to do about the rampant racism and lies in your party, Bob? Oh, right. Nothing. GTF outta here.
Kasich could maybe be taken seriously as a guy who didn’t bend the knee to Trump. No other GOP pols I can think of.
“Retiring Sen. Bob Corker (R-TN), who is not shy about his criticisms of President Trump…”
So shy, in fact, that he (literally) votes in line with Trump 84% of the time.
Either publicly endorse Democrat Bredesen over that racist lunatic Blackburn, or can it, Sen. Waffle House.
Bob Corker: Profile in Courage Faux Outrage While Winking And Nodding.
He can honestly and truly go fuck himself.
Fear may be their final, ahem, Trump card. What has me steamed, however, is the Latino passivity stemming from fear of voting. Yesterday, I talked to a Honduran-born, naturalized US citizen for five decades, never registered to vote. Fear is that it would interfere with her employment if she was a registered Democrat. Right now, in CA-21, David Valadao is on track to stomp TJ Cox by 7% in a 71% Hispanic district. Total turnout on track to hit a pathetic 100,000, which is up from 80,000 in 2014, but a couple hundred thousand below your typical east coast races. It’s not that Valadao is “over performing” but that the Hispanic vote, despite all these efforts this cycle is still underperforming in areas with the lowest economic opportunity.
My only question is if you feel that way why are you still in the republican party?
A fearless portrait of repub courage who’s on his way out to find greener, more lucrative pastures can’t bring himself to condemn DJT by name. He “doesn’t approve” of what the moron is saying. Has he heard yet that the moron is implying Soros is funding the caravan (along with FoxBots saying the same thing) courtesy of a stenographer who went there…
“I wouldn’t be surprised,” Trump told reporters outside the White House when asked if “someone” is paying for the caravan.
“George Soros?” a reporter interjected.
“I don’t know who, but I wouldn’t be surprised,” Trump said. "A lot of people say yes.”
The prestigious lobbying firm he hopes to work for only hires Rs.
It’s a sad fact, the Latino vote is underrepresented for fear of causing problems with their immigration status. But fear of her employer learning what party she is registered with might be her excuse for not giving a bleep and so not registering and not voting. I’ve heard people say they haven’t registered and voted for fear of being called to jury duty. No one wants to say I don’t care about what happens around me.
Corker again… in 5, 4, 3, 2, 1 he’ll make some excuse that his comment were misunderstood.
Not a very good excuse as I don’t know of any state that requires a voter to identify a party affiliation upon registering to vote. Over my 45+ year career I lived and worked in 31 cities/states and not once have I identified a party affiliation. And I vote each and every time I am eligible to do so.
To be courageous is to take risks. Corker’s pending retirement means he has no risk. To that extent, his comments were tepid at best.
When people are indifferent to politics and don’t, can’t or won’t make the connection to how those in political office at any level are a big determinant in how your life goes, there’s no point in continuing the conversation. This kind of indifference, however, leads to the 57% turnout there was in 2016 but I’m hopeful that’s the last time we’ll see such a low figure.
31 cities/states: Sounds like military. Yes? But I too have never not voted since the year I became eligible.
OK well as long as he votes middle right, and tries to inject some sense to the more right leaning folks, I’ll be ok with that till he loses and then goes to work for them. Maybe he’ll do a little bit of good there…hey it could happen!
Piss off, Corker. Coward.
