Discussion: Conyers' Lawyer Says Congressman Has No Plans To Resign Amid Accusations

Mentally I think he and Trump are in the same place

Then he should be expelled.

Fine. Start the process, but spare me the Congressmen’s grandstanding until it’s completed.

Conyers and Franken should both resign. Conyers, especially, because he defrauded the citizens by having the government pay his settlement as salary to the accuser. But since both have made comments about Moore (a born-again asshole that is interested in fucking little girls), well…it’s the goose and the gander.

trump should have already resigned. But the GOP won’t let him or Moore go away.

Now that I think about it, let the voters decide. Republican voters think that Trump & Moore were OK and vote (or about to vote) them in. Let democratic voters do what they think they should do.

I’m just fine with him staying put. We have a P-grabber elected into the presidency and a child molester winning in the polls for a Senate seat. We’ve been ceding ground, keeping our powder dry and getting stomped in the process. Fuck that. Let his constituents decide.

All I can think of are the original claims against Anthony Weiner. We threw him over the cliff and under the bus for allegations which were absolutely no different than Barton’s sexting scandal today. And what did we get for it? What do we get for any of it? We take the moral high ground all the damn time while Republicans do what they want and face no consequences. So, until Dotard resigns, I see no reason for Franken or Conyers to fall on their swords.

He’s not in Moore territory, but he’s also not in Franken territory. He probably ought to go. As for the effect on party etc., he’d get replaced by a good young Democrat, so no real loss there.
