They must have some interesting dinner table discussions.
Do we think Kelley Ann is only in it for the money?

Our Constitution is a bipartisan document, designed to endure for ages. Its words have meaning that cannot be wished away,” Conway and Democratic lawyer Neal Katyal wrote.

In this day and age, with this SCOTUS (and a likely third Justice appointed by Trump sometime in the next two years) I have a feeling there's not much in the Constitution we can depend upon to be on solid ground.

About the op-ed’s authors: Conway’s mother was a Filipina who came to the US in the '50s; and Katyal’s parents came from India in the '60s.

They write:

Birthright citizenship sprang from the ashes of the worst Supreme Court decision in U.S. history, Dred Scott v. Sandford

This is not true. Even before Dred Scott, the Supreme Court had already ruled in favor of birthright citizenship. The Fourteenth Amendment was needed particularly because African-American slaves had been excluded, not because the notion of “birthright citizenship” had to be introduced out of nowhere.

True, but I think we all should get used to the idea our history is being rewritten to suit those in power.

The South was always against slavery.

Of course she’s only in it for the money. This is the Carville/Matalin dynamic: keep the brand intact even in the midst of systemic change.

Her salary ain’t that much, she could easily make more as a campaign and communications consultant. But who knows there could be some other arrangement of where she gets money from other sources or inside information that she can use or sell, or maybe she just steals stuff.

I read somewhere yesterday that when this is all said and done Kellyanne will merely point to her husband and say ‘he spoke for both of us’ and will use that to excuse her ‘loyalty’ to Trump.

He co-wrote this op-ed for the Wa. Post. Did he also co-write the mystery op-ed for the Times a couple months ago declaring how people inside the White House were trying to protect us from Trump? Just a thought, he and Kellyanne.

It’s a free country. If Fat Nixon wants to tilt at windmills, at least it distracts him from his normal daily routine of attacks, division, corruption and damage. In other words, please proceed, Prez. Dumbass.

Which is going to crash and burn first, Trump’s presidency or Kellyanne’s marriage?
Inquiring minds want to know.

She probably has her bags packed and the next job lined up already.
Be the first out the door the morning after the election.

I’m just waiting for them to recharacterize it as being pro-labor.

Well sure
After Cruz she went to Trump
Liars gotta Lie and she’s world class
Good thing there’s a never ending supply of Republican Douchebags
She knows her market

Kelly Ann’s book is gonna be a doozy. If Morning Joe is to be believed, she used to complain during the commercial breaks about how cray-cray Trump was. She is probably banking (no pun intended) that a few juicy and scandalous revelations will make her almost welcome back in polite society (like Omarosa).

She is probably also paid by the Mercers, to keep Donald on a leash.

jus soli citizenship derives from English Common Law and was transmitted to the colonies from their English roots. It always applied to whites. The Fourteenth Amendment and Wong applied it to blacks and Asians as well. Native Americans were granted citizenship by Congress in the 1920s.

Right.

Both authors are Yale Law graduates who “almost became” Solicitor General of the United States.

I guess it’s too much to expect that they know these basic facts, or at least that they’d have checked before writing their op-ed.

Similarly, expecting the Post to have done any checking is also too much.
