She is an Ann Coulter wannabe, the worst of the worst values of Ann.

Can he just end the subsidies by himself?

So he decides to stop making payments, is sued and forced to follow the law. Got it.

If he does it, the only people who can restore them are the House Republicans.

The same House Republicans who refused to fund them under the ACA.

The same House Republicans who sued the Obama Administration when he overrode their refusal to fund them.

The same House Republicans who won that case at the District Court but agreed to a stay of the judgment so they would have time to figure out a legislative solution.

So it’s now coming down to a game of chicken, with 1/6 of our economy at stake if neither side blinks.

Of all the countries Trump could mindlessly threaten to destroy, he had to pick this one.

Hopefully the Congresscritters feel sufficiently insulted by now to issue yet another middle finger to Herr Tweeter.

He appears to be moving into a kind of “führerbunker” mentality where his decisions are mostly erratic and could well depend upon whether or not the Whitehouse Chef undercooked the beef in his cheeseburger.

If he does that, it seems Congressional Republicans would be forced to do something, anything to restore some semblance of healthcare, because the public outrage would bring significant pressure. Especially as election season draws ever closer. Perhaps even work with Democrats?

Tanking the ACA, at this point, is not a viable option.

The moment tRump takes away employer contributions from lawmakers is the moment they begin to consider legislation against tRump doing so.

If tRump just moves on taking away subsidies from poor people the Goopers will have absolutely no problem with that, even if they realize it will cause insurance markets to raise premiums and compensate for their losses in other ways. So long as they’re personally unaffected, it will be seen as no biggie.

Like I said earlier…these people are shameless. They must be voted out in the next election. Dems need to focus like a laser beam on healthcare going forward, a prime way to focus hearts and minds on how these people will continue to chip away at the current healthcare law and create financial insecurity and peace of mind for so many Americans.

I agree. He’s moved deeper and deeper into it all this past week.

From NYT editorial. If trumpp makes these moves to weaken ACA, voters who are paying attention and want to protect their health care would have no choice but to take it out on Rs. The entire House is up for reelection and there are a number of endangered Rs in the Senate, e.g. Heller, who voted “Yes” the other night.

It would be foolish to underestimate the administration, which has the power to do substantial damage. The administration could stop making subsidy payments to insurance companies authorized by the A.C.A. to help reduce deductibles for lower-income people. And it could stop enforcing the penalty for people who do not buy insurance, which would result in fewer young and healthy people signing up, leading insurers to stop offering policies in some parts of the country.

the administration could decide to work with Congress and state governments to improve the law. Congress could strengthen the insurance market by voting to make the subsidy payments, which it never explicitly did. The 19 states that have not expanded Medicaid could reconsider and help four million more people gain health insurance. And the administration and state governments could enact reinsurance programs and other policies to lower the risk to insurers and encourage them to sell coverage in rural and suburban areas.

After this failure, Republicans must figure out whose example they will follow. They can adopt Mr. Trump’s call for yet another scorched-earth campaign. Or they can listen to the likes of Mr. McCain about the benefits of bipartisanship and cooperation.

And a fuckin A to @tena. He’s daring Congress to ignore this.

@pshah Maybe we just don’t recognize what the self immolation of a political party looks like while it happens in real time.

“He’s going to make that decision this week, and that’s a decision that only he can make,” Conway said on “Fox News Sunday.”

Can we just start calling him Emperor now?

I think Kellyanne would suggest that the correct title is “Dear Emperor.”

Trump and his lackeys do not care who gets hurt. It is about the win and winning and being the all powerful Trump. The one who shall be treated with deference has no sense of common decency. He has declared war on the middle class, poor, disabled, and those with chronic conditions. It is despicable. This is not Christian for all of the so-called Christians in the WH and cabinet. There will be no feeding the hungry or healing the sick.

It is time to light up the phones of both the Senate and House.

Doesn’t the House hold the purse strings?
