I just want to say this to all those reasonable Bernie supporters who insisted for months that they would vote for “lesser of two evils” but that Bernie should take it all the way to convention: what’s going on now is the consequence of Bernie’s and your attitudes. The optics matter and if the optics at the end of the week is a splintered party the Trump will probably be elected.
Clinton came out against TPP. Clinton wants to raise minimal wage. Clinton… is really no different from Sanders in most of her positions. So go ahead, boo the speakers and help elect Trump.
(Yeah, I know I am too pessimistic, Clinton is still a favorite but I was hoping for a wave election.)

There is, and always has been, a strain on the left that feels dissent is inherently righteous and constructive, no matter how vitriolic, regardless of content and regardless of circumstances but construes any dissent from the dissent as intolerable. These are the people who spent a goodly portion of the Obama presidency complaining about “hippy punching” and “slaps in the face,” confidently predicting that Obama was going to gut Social Security and complaining about a mythical Public Option that was either sold out as part of a corrupt bargain with Them or, alternately, because Obama was weak.

Could someone out there - preferably a Sanders supporter - explain to me what these yahoos expect to gain by disrupting speakers and not allowing them to speak with rude chants from the audience? I fail to see how any of these behaviors and threats of refusing to let Sec Clinton etc speak, and walking out or forcing ridiculous votes on alternative VP candidates etc are designed to do anything productive. Do they really think they will be drawing more people to their positions by this childish behavior? If they really want Sanders’ “revolution” to continue and to have influence over the party’s positions in the future, they need to understand that they need the rest of the Democrats - who by the way far outnumber the Sanders voters - to go along with them. What I am seeing and reading about today seems designed to do just the opposite - lead to further marginalizing them and Sanders to the rude, nutcase fringe left
Sen Sanders - this is what comes from your refusal to full out endorse Sec Clinton who won and would have won regardless of the DNC. You gave it your all and lost. It is time for you and your followers to admit that. Because you stirred them up with unrealistic promises and assurances of victory, you need to step up and tell them the truth and/or take the blame if this goes sour.

The young White d-bags have decided that they WANT the country to burn because reasons. At this point, Sanders participation in the “berning” down of the country doesn’t matter. They want it all destroyed an THAT is what matters now.
I am hoping beyond hope that whoever is Dem leader in the Senate gives Sanders the “Willy Wonka speech” on his future as a Democratic Sen. That should be the price he pays for fomenting this insurrection.
