Michael A. Needham, the CEO of Heritage’s political organization, Heritage Action, issued his own statement in response to the delay.
“Congress cannot allow the timeline to continue to slip. Not only does it delay work on other legislative priorities, but millions of Americans are suffering from the harmful side effects of Obamacare,” he said.
Pardon me for noticing this, but I’m pretty darn sure the Heritage foundation created the ACA in the first fucking place.

Asked if Americans could expect a replacement plan in 2017, the president said, “yes, in the process and maybe it’ll take till sometime into next year but we’re certainly going to be in the process.”

"Why is Obamacare Repeal Taking So Long?
- Repubs never had any viable ideas to replace it with after 8 years of griping.
- Repubs are only good at obstruction…construction not so much
- Repubs are still trying to determine which of their megawealthy supporters need to be helped the most by the replacement.
- Repubs are trying to make sure they have created enough cover for themselves when the replacement goes south. (How long will “It’s Obama’s fault” be usable?)
The one thing I didn’t hear from take - action - now Jordan is what to replace it with! I thought he knew all the answers!
Why that good for nothing dishonest press failed to represent his initiative fairly, didn’t they?!
Rrpublicans won their seats based on their promises to kill the taxes and mandates.
Now they are caught between the two pillars of GOP hegemony: “keep your gubmint hands off my ACA” and “get gubmint’s hands off my health care”.

Unfortunately for you, that fire is being lit by progressives and moderates warning Republicans what’s going to happen to them if they take health care away from 30 million people - which is ten times more people than the 3 million by which Trump lost the election.

For all those years they drank their own koolaid and lived in their little “repeal - repeal” bubble in which there are death panels and unicorns.
Now they have woken up to find out the koolaid was tainted and the bubble has been smashed by all those folks out there who have NOT been hurt by Obamacare and who are being loud about it. The death panels may be coming for the Goopers who are unable to deliver the unicorns of “everybody covered, better and cheaper, and all the fave parts of O’care will be preserved too.”
All of a sudden, they are waking up to responsibility and accountability and that don’t look good for 'em.
If I remember correctly, the carnage of the Bowling Green Massacre was greatly amplified by the poor health care offered to its victims through the ACA. Thanks Obama.
Why is it taking so long, conservatives ask?
Because your candidate and all his enablers lied. They have no plans for replacing it, they’re terrified to repeal it and face the ads featuring sick people who lost their insurance, and they knew all of this the entire time they voted to repeal over the past eight years.
So, the answer to your question: they lied and you were too gullible and fell for it. SAD!
I’m pretty sure his concern for those “suffering” under Obamacare are the ones paying the extra 3.8 percent tax on investment income plus the .09 percent Medicare tax;
The .09 percent Medicare tax explained:
The surtax—or additional Medicare tax (it is levied on top of the Medicare tax you already pay)–is effective Jan. 1, 2013 and applies to wages and self-employment income above $250,000 per couple or $200,000 for a single.
The 3.8 percent tax explained:
You are only exposed to the new 3.8% Medicare tax if your modified adjusted gross income (MAGI) exceeds the applicable threshold of: $200,000 if you are unmarried, $250,000 if you are a married joint-filer or qualifying widow or widower, or $125,000 if you use married filing separate status
The Heritage foundation would never have caused people like Mitt Romney pay an extra 4.7% in taxes.
I have never heard a coherent explanation why Obamacare should be replaced. Are there better ways to provide healthcare insurance? I don’t doubt it. But Republicans can’t think of better ways. Trump promises better health care provisions and cheaper ones. So where are Trump’s plans? I suppose they are with his tax “disclosures.” In the end (I hate to be so political) Republicans are frauds.

5 - Obamacare is the Republican alternative plan: the alternative Nixon pushed when Ted Kennedy wanted Medicare for All; the alternative to the Clinton health care proposals that Heritage and Republican Representatives and Senators pushed back in the 1990’s; and the alternative GOP Gov. Mitt Romney enacted in Massachusetts.
When Democrats adopted it and made it workable, the GOP could have said “We WON! We’d like to thank Democrats for finally coming around to our point of view.”
Instead, they went full obstruction without ever considering what kind of alternative they could offer - now that they were undermining the very same type of tripartite health care plan (mandates, subsidies, and community rating) they’d been pushing for 45-50 years.
They had all their hearing lined up to impeach Hillary Clinton, it’s going
to take a little time to turn the Titanic around and learn to govern
instead of obstruct !
