Discussion: Conservatives Reps. Warn Against Shrinking The Scope Of O'Care Repeal

“There’s no reason we should put anything less on President Trump’s desk than we put on President Obama’s now that we know it will be signed into law,”

That would be 100% true…if you white nationalist conservative asshats had any principles.

BUUUUUT, seeing as you don’t, it’s also 100% true that you cynically put things you knew were extraordinarily dangerous and damaging on Obama’s desk as political theater, precisely because you knew he wouldn’t sign and he’d thereby save you from your own bullshit.

They seem to be worried about wavering Republicans. Usually, the hardliners win these types of battles. But with Trump’s ratings in the toilet and with people increasingly challenging and ignoring him, Trump has no political capital to sell a clearly unpopular policy. The chances of the GOP repeal plan collapsing have inched up higher. I would put it at 38% to use a 538 rationale.

Trump: I repealed ObamaCare on first day when I signed the EO. It was done. Move on.

Health care will be better and more affordable once Obamacare is repealed.

Dubya: Of course it will be. We have the proof. Just look at my reign as King George.

And 538 did such a great job with their last big prediction.

“Health care will be better and more affordable once Obamacare is repealed.” Just like it was before the ACA went into effect. It’s not the GOP’s fault that 20 million people prefer the disaster of the ACA over the better and more affordable status quo ante.

And in other news, Trump is easing restrictions on Russia.

WaPo Jan, 15, 2016:

Trump said his plan for replacing most aspects of Obama’s health-care law is all but finished. Although he was coy about its details — “lower numbers, much lower deductibles” — he said he is ready to unveil it alongside Ryan and Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.).

“It’s very much formulated down to the final strokes. We haven’t put it in quite yet but we’re going to be doing it soon,” Trump said. He noted that he is waiting for his nominee for secretary of health and human services, Rep. Tom Price (R-Ga.), to be confirmed. That decision rests with the Senate Finance Committee, which hasn’t scheduled a hearing.

I think he answered his own question. The fact that it would be signed into law is exactly the reason his chickenshit colleagues will not do it. Repeal = Losing Elections

Precisely why I wish they’d quit talking about it and do it. Chickenshits.

I hope these assholes don’t mind if we watch.

Despite the fact that the ACA rejuvenated his district Representative Walden is in charge of repeal

That’s a deceiving notion.

Insurance that is better and more affordable and it will be free because the Republicans are repealing the taxes that paid for it. Lots of smoke and mirrors in there for sure. And those Congressmen are so stupid as to think we will believe them.

Both of these anti- american ( please don’t call them conservatives ) representatives prefer their constituents to be poor, sick and ignorant. Meadows and Jordan rely on their jingoism about Obamacare to carry the day. They are hoping their constituents don’t figure out that Obamacare and the Affordable Care Act are one and the same. They want their constituents to help them eradicate any trace of the first African-American President.

They will muck with it more, but repeal is likely coming.

because two assholes should dictate what happens in the House of Representatives…

Good.

They are welcome to hurry it right up. If they’re going to do it after 7 years of nonstop threats, then they need to do it.
