Hey, go ahead and shut down the government. That would really fly with the American people. These conservative groups are like spoiled brats. They are just a bunch of thugs.

If this gets any support at all it will be a case of ‘follow the money’. The corporations that have decided to go to war with the ExImp bank (Delta et al) have calculated that the ROI on investing in the Tea Party support structure gives them more bang for the buck.

Let’s hear more cries of “shut 'er down” from the tea potty loons. Republicans practice “doing the same thing over and over expecting different results” like the true stupid party that they are.

“The bank provides loans and financial products to support U.S.
exports abroad.”

U.S. companies “export” products, Foreign businesses “import”
products, so how can you make such a ridiculous statement. (BTW,
who invited you?)

The Export-Import Bank has roused the passions of small-government conservatives, who view it as a bastion of corporate welfare and crony capitalism.

Wait, I thought corporate welfare and crony capitalism was what the GOP was all about. How else did Dubya make any money in business? If you did away with corporate welfare and crony capitalism, the GOP would collapse overnight.

The real reason the Republicans want to get rid of it is that it is part of the New Deal, founded by Roosevelt in 1934.

Oh, sarcasm. Sorry, I just get riled up when I read of yet another way
the GOP TB wants to waste my tax money and have no patience with
those who defend that waste.

Methinks there was a wee bit of snark

The bank supports businesses, in other words, it supports free market capitalism. It provides loans and such to businesses that might otherwise not be able to secure funding. So…the GOP doesn’t like it. Why? Well, it can only be that the Ex-Im bank takes away business from Chase and Goldman-Sachs, and Lloyd I’ve-got-no-ethics and Jamie So-I-run-an-illegal-operation don’t like competition. I’d love to see the GOP make this a big deal, because it will completely backfire on them.

Please, go ahead. Nobody’s stopping you.

Please GOP, proceed, by all means.

I am as suspicious of the corporate kleptocrats as I am of the religulous fundamentalists and racially disaffected conservatives. The tea party conservatives may be on to something here. The Export-Import bank may be a corporate welfare scheme. These business lending risks are better handled by private financial institutions.

Virginia Foxx looks confused.

Wait – they still owe the American people $24B from the last pointless shutdown fiasco.
