Discussion for article #241159

Republicans want a man who represents their fine Aryan conservative heritage.

If only they cared so much about the people they were elected to represent as they do about their cronies and lobbyists.

There does seem to be a certain appropriateness. Gowdy has the shifty eyes, narrow skull, pinched features, and lank hair of a movie villain who denounces his best friend to the totalitarian authorities in return for a bag of money because there’s nothing in the world he really cares about, he’s just an empty, soulless shell. Should represent today’s GOP perfectly.

It’ll only be temporarily. Trump has him lined up to be his Department of Law Czar.

GOP thinking… promote the man running the biggest witch hunt in congress history to lead the House.
(Benghazi committee the longest investigation in congress history).

Of fucking course.

ā€œIf only they cared so much about the people they were elected to represent as they do about their cronies and lobbyists.ā€

But they are acting in the best interests of the Koch Brothers and the minority they were elected to represent thanks to GOP gerrymandering that diluted the value of Dem voters relative to GOPers. And here is their reward… Extremists are carrying the House for now.

Well notice there is a difference between the people who had them elected and the people they were elected to represent… with that said, your point is very well put as well.

They don’t want a leader, they want a show pony.

boy you aren’t kidding…I don’t like to get into people’s appearances, but being from the south, Gowdy - appearance and all - just resonates ā€œredneck roosterā€ to me. The prosecutorial showboat personality is all in keeping with that.

What kills me is tht I actually expected him to manage to make more noise than Issa, even though clearly there’s no ā€œthere thereā€ WRT Benghazi. But barely even a whimper out of this one. All I can think is he’s slow walking it until next September, but I don’t know enough procedure to know if he can do that over Dem. objections.

ā€œI think that the Republican Conference needs somebody who can unite the body and represent us far and wide and articulate the message…"

ā€œā€¦and the message is, ā€˜We hate the average American.ā€™ā€, Chaffetz said.

They want someone baner than Boehner.

Oh, yes please! More comedy gold if gowdy is the majority leader!

While I understand that McCarthy is in a prime position to be the next Speaker, is anyone actually supporting him - well, other than the media?

Not to be too picky but in addition to his lank hair look, if you notice, in his photos, sometimes he parts his hair on the left, sometimes on the right and even sometimes both left and right and pushed up in the middle. I don’t know what all that means but I don’t get a good feeling about it.

Woohoo! Those popcorn futures are beginning to really pay off. Chaffetz, what a piece of work. An indecent, self-righteous, blasphemous moron. He is really the one who makes the most sense as representative of the republican’t agenda. These folks are about as nimble as a bulldogs.

First we break it and then we will blame it on someone else.
