He did ok for the first 22 mins, not 29. The only way he could improve would be to study bigly on the issues and be better informed.
Breitbart is just a bunch of whiny ass titty babies. They can dish out the lumps but they sure can’t take them.
Lay of the blow next time, perhaps.
Campaign manager Conway over the weekend was calling Trump the Babe Ruth of debaters. A little league player or member of the high school debate team would be more cogent and knowledgable. How did the man do at military academy or Wharton?
I thought she did really well. I’m greatly relieved. I hope this swings the momentum of the campaign beyond his ability to recover. Time will tell.
I think something that people are overlooking is that Mrs. Clinton actually looked kind of cool tonight. Something that she’s had trouble doing. That moment when she went Whew! after Trump went off about his temperament came off as funny and authentic, something she’s had trouble with in the past. She seemed so much cooler and more likeable next to The Donald.
He seriously sounded deranged. When you find yourself debating the moderator instead of your opponent, you should realize that you are not doing well.
“Benghazi, the server.”
God, this is just pathetic.
“The consensus Monday night seemed to hold that Trump performed well in the first half of the debate”
Performed well as what? Charlie Sheen hopped up on meth? Trump was a raving lunatic for large chunks of the first half of the debate - the sniffing, snorting, ranting like a madman standing on the corning in downtown Manhattan.
I agree with you. I felt that she was totally relaxed by that point and was able to actually enjoy the absurdity of Trump. Good moment for Hillary.
In general her poise and calmness contrasted with his hysterical, hand-waving performance (clearly he got a lot of exercise) said it all. You wouldn’t have had to understand a word of English to be able to tell the story of that debate.
Yea, a draw, just like the line down the middle of the screen, that was priceless.
Trump has no stamina past 15 minutes. Neener neener(points and laughs).
Maybe he will do some debate prep next time, or not.
Bullshit, he got rolled. Clinton smoked him and it will continue to happen.
Yes, but he should also be less of an against-truth debater.
It became clear early that Trump would be allowed to interrupt Clinton whenever he felt like it.
Or talk over moderator if he wished.
11 or 12 minutes in, I thought: “If Holt doesn’t say something, Clinton’s going to have to.”
Ultimately neither really did. I think she should’ve stressed that he shouldn’t get the advantage
of interjecting “That’s not true!” or whatever, repeatedly during her two minutes.
She still won, but it sets a disturbing precedent, since there are two more debates.
She was silent when Trump spoke, but it was a one way street. It shouldn’t be.
I’d be interested in seeing a stopwatch breakdown…it seemed like by hijacking things,
he got more air time. Of course, since he spent much of it saying “Call Sean Hannity!!!”
and other things that won’t help, it’s understandable that the Clinton folks didn’t mind too much.
But I hate to see anyone, of any party, get rewarded with an advantage for rude behavior.
Trump started to lose it for me just a few minutes into the debate when the subject went on to his shorting of housing prior to the financial crisis, when he interrupted Hillary by snapping, “that’s business.” She’s got a campaign commercial right there. And he never recovered; it spiraled down from there.
Kellyanne is looking pretty tired tonight. I think she’s having a very, very bad day (and night).
A lot of people are saying that his constant sniffing indicates that his cocaine habit is getting the best of him. I don’t know but I am just saying.
