except when they don’t favor our position, said all Republicans.
“The American people should have a voice in the selection of their next Supreme Court Justice,” McConnell said in a statement.
They had a voice. They voted (twice) for a President whose job responsibilities include nominating Supreme Court Justices until his term expires. Now, do your job.
“The American people should have a voice in the selection of their next Supreme Court Justice,” McConnell said in a statement. "Therefore, this vacancy should not be filled until we have a new President.” (Bitch McConnell)
We already have had our say, you fucker. President Barack Obama is our President for the next eleven months.
The announcements say “apparent natural causes” and “no foul play”. Is that standard while talking about the death of an overweight 79 year old?
“The American people should have a voice in the selection of their next Supreme Court Justice,” McConnell said in a statement.
The American people have a voice, we elected THIS Preisdent!!
(Big Smile) Now, that would be wonderful!
Do nothing senate continues to do nothing with all due alacrity.
He’s not even in the ground yet… let the games begin!
did you hear, they found exactly where Cruz came from in Canada…
the name of this place is no surprise, nor are its residents.
Tedless got his whole staff from his old Canadian home.
I think this is an unbelievable political gift to Obama and the Democrats, if for once they play it smart.
“I hope that no one will use this sad news to suggest that the President or the Senate should not perform its constitutional duty,” Leahy said. "The American people deserve to have a fully functioning Supreme Court. The Supreme Court of the United States is too important to our democracy for it to be understaffed for partisan reasons. It is only February. The President and the Senate should get to work without delay to nominate, consider and confirm the next justice to serve on the Supreme Court.”
Senator Patrick Leahy seems to be the level-headed guy in the Senate right now.
Logic.
Ralph you give this RWNJ split-second-freakout more credit than deserved.

Can the Rethugs filibuster Pres. Obama’s nom? If so (stupidly!), can Reid’s successor (please NOT Schumer) go with the nuclear option?
Why are “Conservatives” so scared of whom Obama might nominate?
According to the Great Chief Justice Roberts, Justices are mere impartial umpires, calling balls and strikes.
Or are “Conservatives” trying to tell us that their leader is a bald-faced-liar?
hellz yes!
Well, I would be remiss if I did not send out my condolences to Justice Scalia’s wife, family and to Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg who has lost a close personal friend.
The Repubs are sure to block any Obama appointment to the court, but the 4-4 tie between liberals and right-wingers on the court that will leave means the court might not be able to block Obama’s executive actions on immigration and new EPA rules on carbon emissions. Before, both would have been overturned by a 5-4 conservative majority. At least that’s my inexpert legal opinion.
So on January 21; 2017, President Clinton’s nominee sails through the hastily-expedited Senate confirmation vote with a huge GOP majority.
Uh-huh.
Screw that.
I want BHO to make a nomination before Meet The Press tomorrow morning.
