So far being loathsome has filled their pockets with money and our country with rotting infrastructure and low wages. To them this is winning.

What if they already suck and you’re supporting them for reasons you don’t understand?

Even if Republicans do win the senate they won’t win a super majority, and 2016 is supposed to be windfall for the Democrats. What ever gains the GOP make will be short lived, and Obama will be able to keep them in check in the meantime with his veto pen. They won’t be able to do too much damage.

If? Oh, they definitely WILL. They don’t know how to govern and they sure as hell aren’t interested in working with Pres. Obama. If the GOP does gain the Seante, look for new deportation bills, ObamaCare repeals, government shut downs, more Benghazi IRS Fast&Furious hearings. Oh and threats of impeachment. The only positive thing they will do is more tax cuts for their buddies, but to hell with everyone else…

Then the Democrats will have to be elected to clean up their mess. AGAIN.

A Republican Senate WILL suck, but it won’t matter to the other Republicans because, you know, THEY suck too.

Definitely the wrong tense being applied in that statement.

What happens if they continue to suck out loud, Sean?

There, that works now.

Nothing is going to pass in Congress no matter who wins the Senate in 2014. If the GOP flips it, it will probably flip back - but probably not super-majority so even then, not much will pass other than roll-forward CRs and Post Office names. I have given up worrying about House/Senate races. IMO the real action now is at the state level. If Brownback claws his way back, Kansans are screwed to the wall. Same in Wisconsin, Colorado, Florida.

This batch of ® automatons would leap lockstep off a cliff if the Koch’s directed them to.

This isn’t about ®s finding a collective conscience if in a majority.
This is about redistributing upward-- as much middle-class wealth as possible–
before the adults assume control of all 3 branches of government in 2016.

The Koch’s don’t care about governing.
The Koch’s care about profiting.

The reputations of these ® Congressional pawns are quite secondary.
The ones who perform will be handsomely rewarded with a future of wingnut welfare.

“Here’s the problem…”

…if we win, we have to govern, but we’ve spent so long un-governing that we’ve forgotten how to govern.

Clearly Ms. Loesch is worried about her future income and job prospects as a Class C Republican-oriented pundit. I guarantee she is going to soon start styling herself as an O’Reilly “independent.”

oh honey…of course the hard right gopers will get in there…attempt to defund Obamacare, force exploratory ultrasounds on all women 14- 50 monthly, vote to nuke …pick a place…doesn’t matter which one, then maybe try something with social security.

they can’t help themselves…they must try to legislate personal behavior, give the Trumps of the world more tax breaks and hit any “enemy of America” with big huge stick.

it’s what you do, Dana

2016 will be a big year for Dems in the Senate, that can be marked down now.

Yes, Obama would spend much of the next two years vetoing bills, but given this bunch, if they controlled both Houses, they will inevitably tie something like a CR to one of the crazy bills and dare the President with a shut down if he vetoes. That scenario would get played out often.

So they wouldn’t be completely powerless. But before you they can go there, there is that little issue of winning 6 seats next month, first.

I agree with you…what would get Congress back to actually trying to govern is beyond me.

But the statehouses…look at the damage those legislators wrought after 2010.

If Hannity really wanted to cause a freak out, he could have mentioned to her…“Dana, in 2016 you will be two years older…and will be starting to sag”

Then back up and watch the meltdown!

Wanna see what a “Republican Majority” can do?
Just look at 2002-2006.

None of those will be enacted, other than the investigations, which will yield zippo and will continue in The House regardless.

But let me ask, what are the Democrats goals that can realistically be obtained? I think the main one is a minimum wage increase, and that is a popular one that will play well in 2016. That should be used as a bargaining chip for every demand the Republicans make.

And I would propose the following deal: The Republicans really want (or say they really want) the Keystone pipeline. Offer it to them in exchange for a $10.10 minimum wage. But, you say the pipeline is terrible. Don’t worry, it will never be built. Why?

  1. It will be tied up in court for decades,
  2. It’s Canada’s oil and shipping it through the US makes no sense. Most Americans don’t know this, but eastern Canada imports oil from the Middle East despite the tons of it in Alberta. It makes more sense, if a pipeline is to be built, to build it to Montreal and replace the imports coming in. If there is left over to be exported, it can be shipped from Canadian ports
