Next up: Republican outreach efforts, in which the GOP and their media drones explain to women why they (the women) are wrong, and should accept the GOP platform.

Oh, and let’s be honest here: anyone who brings up women is just playing the gender card.

I bet it will be a big surprise to some Republican old white men. Too bad they will have 3 months to craft a campaign message that doesn’t look so intolerant, but that will only be words. Actions speak louder than words, and old dogs don’t learn new tricks very fast.

So many uppity women these days, wanting equal rights, equal pay, opportunities for advancement, all that stuff. Don’t women know that their place is in the House?

(I.E. The White House, and the House of Representatives).

This is disturbing. What Republican policy shows concern for married women?

None.

Consequently, this figure suggests that way too women are being told by their husbands how to cast their votes, and I find that so immensely sad.

I agree. This was the only surprising part of the article. I’d like to think that’s not mostly a husband influencing his spouse’s vote, but if it is what’s second?

I suspect their campaign to win over women after this report will go as well as their campaign to win over Hispanics after the last report.

Single women have become Democrats’ most reliable supporters, behind African-Americans: In 2012, two-thirds of single women who voted supported President Obama. Among married women, a slim majority supported Mitt Romney.

“You have a group that’s growing in size, and becoming more politically concentrated in terms of the Democrats,” said Tom W. Smith, director of the General Social Survey at the National Opinion Research Center of the University of Chicago.

Unfortunately this group of Democratic voting women doesn’t come out in mid-terms.

I think what’s going on is that marriage isn’t as necessary for women as it used to be–you can support yourself, or even have kids without it.
So the women who still view catching a hubby as a critical life goal tend to be from the conservative end of the spectrum, and it skews the married-woman demographic.

No, that cannot be true.

I hope that GOTP supporters keep commissioning polls and spending money to find out what pretty much anyone who isn’t drinking the tea could tell them for free.
