This sounds ridiculous but I’ll wager the Kim Davis types imagine he goes into Holy Spirit mode with the closed eyes and what we are hearing is actually God talking and not Dr. Carson. So, this whole thing’s God’s fault.

On Lucianne.com, one commenter said “We can blather on about Obama did this and Hillary did that, but Carson is one of OUR candidates. He is representing us, not the Democrats. What Obama did, what Hillary did, is THEIR ethic. We have a higher standard. Or I thought we did?”
Jeez, that commenter may need an armed escort out of the website.

I followed the link over to the RedState post, mainly to check out the comments. The knives came out quickly against Carson but then the comforting “liberal media caught lying again” meme enabled everyone to calm down and direct their anger at a more comfortable target. Plenty of commenters retracted their previous derision against Carson.
That says to me that there are plenty of people ready to pile on Carson but that they need to Rush-approved vehicle to start the stoning.

Well, has anyone asked Cuba Gooding, Jr., what he thinks? I mean, I know a lot of stuff from Hollywood is made up out of thin air – but this was a biographical depiction. (Not that I give a poop, but we seem to be covering so many angles to this man’s obvious fabrications.)

whether it’s Ben Carson’s serial fabrications or the kerfuffle over how Cruz handled a shotgun… all one needs to know is this:
What would conservatives be saying if Obama was the subject of the story rather than a conservative crush?
“Obama in sport shooting photo-op violates two basic gun safety rules”
“Obama fabricates story about West Point application”
“Obama claims he was involved in several violent incidents in his youth; several childhood friends deny it all.”
I am fairly certain the usual suspects on the right would not be spending much time floundering around trying to figure out how they should be reacting to that news.
Nevertheless, I welcome the continuing epidemic of conservative self-deception and delusion. I can think of few greater advantages for the eventual Democratic nominee than right-wingers lying to themselves about reality.

Ben Carson and Tim Tebow are both devout fundamentalists unqualified for their ambitions, with conservative fans blinded by love who are absolutely unable to accept the truth about their man.
