Yet in the face of those pleas conservative aggregator Matt Drudge, who has a house in Florida, tweeted that “The deplorables are starting to wonder if govt has been lying to them about Hurricane Matthew intensity to make exaggerated point on climate,” and “Hurricane Center has monopoly on data. No way of verifying claims. Nassau ground observations DID NOT match statements! 165mph gusts? WHERE?”

So…those folk who don’t believe in the science behind climate change are supposed to understand and believe the science behind hurricane predictions?
I’m tempted to say, okay stay and see what happens…but we should protect people from their own stupidity. We need a version of bottle proof caps for these people.
Lord have mercy, the stupid burns!! Around the eye, which fortunately did not hit Nassau. Please feel free to fly your own planes into the hurricane and take your own measurements. And stay on the coastline so you can observe that 6-9 foot storm surge first hand. It’s clear you can’t be taught science. Maybe some direct experience will do the trick.

They forgot to mention the covert operation, Fall Wrath, that will take place as the storm hits to take out Mar-A-Lago, Drudge, Donald Duck, and Limbaugh and blame it on the storm. Did nobody see the fleet of hovercraft? Oh, and the entire hurricane is one giant chem-trail. It’s all perfectly true.
Unfortunately this puts others at risk. Time helping idiots takes emergency responders away from real emergencies and puts their lives at risk, too.
Please don’t call these people skeptics. They are anything but. They are climate change deniers.
I guess Rick Scott should be the subject of their ire. He was telling everyone to GTFO. Of course, as I posted earlier, he said he asked Obama for emergency funding and “hoped” Florida would get it.
At a time like this, he has to be a partisan asshole.

I agree but some insist on stupidity. Here in AZ a LOT of folks fool with their phones while driving. I’ve worked for nearly a decade with my local state senator to enact a state law that deals with distracted driving. We got push back from the AZ Dept of Transportation. The head of that dept said “Arizona shouldn’t be a nanny state” meaning he thought, I guess, that texting while driving on the interstate at 70 mph was fine and dandy. I have seen people doing this and it’s unnerving.
So in this same spirit some folks will take their dogs and kids to the ocean to watch the storm surge.

I’ve been to the memorial for the victims of the famous Category 5 Labor Day hurricane in 1935. You want to politicize a 20-foot storm surge in a coastal area that might be, say, four feet above the high-tide line, be my guest. I’d rather keep on living but hey, that’s me.
I think we should encourage them all to go to Florida and monitor the hurricane closely and in person to report on the lies the government is propagating.
This shouldn’t be! Bad storm now, bad storms in the past and future. Hope for the best for the people in the way and help the cleanup.
This would work better if Matthew was going to drop sharks on Matt Drudge and Mar-A-Lago ala Sharknado.
