Discussion: Conservative GOP Rep. Jim Jordan To Run For House Speaker

“Should the American people entrust us with the majority again in the 116th Congress, our clear mandate will be to continue working with President Trump to keep the promises we made, to stand up for the rule of law and the Constitution, and to put the interests of the people before those of the swamp. I want to help keep us on this track and shape bold, visionary policy that will improve the lives of the people we have the honor to represent,” Jordan wrote in a letter to his colleagues in the House.

HAHAHAHAHAHA…yeah, I don’t think that entrusting thing is going to happen. But thanks anyway for trying.

So, it’s a vanity project.

And though they may not talk about it as much, they also want us to change how Congress works. They want an end to "governing by crisis.”

Good fucking luck with that, Coach.

Some congresspersons ought to be creative and troll him.
Introduce the “protect youth and college athletes act” With the Michigan victims at their side.
Line up support at a presser for a protect the special council act with former FBI and CIA in attendance. Even if it has no chance of passing this session it gets the message across for November and a new congress.

He checks all the boxes.

Deplorable :ballot_box_with_check:

I mean…why not? It worked for Denny Hastert…well at least for awhile…

Any chance he gets voted out by his constituents in November? That would be truly wondrous to see…

I suggest a steel cage match - two candidates for Speaker of the House enter, one Speaker of the House leaves.

Michael Jordan would have a better chance.

Well, once you’ve rationalized treason, electing a pedophile as #3 in line is not that much of a stretch amirite?

I get the impression that Jim Jordan is almost as universally loathed by his colleagues as Ted Cruz.

Personally, I see a bit of a disconnect between “keep[ing] the promises we made, to stand up for the rule of law” and your call for Attorney General Jeff Sessions’s resignation, your attempt to paint the Mueller probe as a witch hunt, and your push to impeach Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein for doing his job.

On the brighter side, I don’t think a member of the minority party has ever been elected as Speaker.

Ambitious, but a bit of a grope in the dark, eh what?

Why not? Would be in the tradition of Dennis Hastert.

If you’re going to stand up for the rule of law, maybe don’t let your college students be fondled by the team physician.

I think it is unlikely. Most members of Congress know that he would fuck them in the end.

Oh yea, then as Speaker, he can facilitate all kinds of wing-nut motions to be voted on. Ya know, like impeaching Rosenstein …

Hopefully the Blue Wave will end that dream.
