Can the entire membership of the Connecticut NRA be put on the Terror Watch List?

Good.

If I owned a gun store, the last thing I would want is to sell a gun to someone on the terrorist watch list.

And if I was wrongly listed on the terrorist watch list, I would much rather find out at the gun store than at the airport.

If I was an actual terrorist, then I would obviously prefer the status quo of easy access to even high powered, large capacity weapons, even for suspected terrorists – so I would definitely vote Republican.

Cruz: This is done to thwart my presidency which is all but certain now. With each terror attack, I gain more voters. If gun violence is reduced, it will sink my presidency.

Hmmm, States Rights?, or 2nd Amendment?
Whats a good Fascist to do? Why, 2nd Amendment of course.
Won’t it be hilarious for all the Reich-Wingers who have been SCREAMING for “States Rights” to trump (ha, ha) Federal Law now will snap to the other side so fast your neck will break.

ISIS: This is a dark day in US. Govt is now coming after guns of our recruits.
Rubio: I agree. Guns should be freely available to all.

Good for the Gov. This raises an important question. Does the POTUS have the discretion to add everyone on the No Fly/Terrorist Watch list(s) to the no gun background check list.

The National Instant Criminal Background Check System (NICS),
managed by the FBI, quickly checks the name of a prospective gun buyer
against federal and state records to see if he or she is
disqualified from buying a gun. Is the statute authorizing these background checks so carefully defined as to prevent the executive branch from making these additions? The FBI, after all, ultimately answers to the President, but is also bound by law. I presume it is, but don’t know. Several here will speculate, but does anyone know?

For those who don’t know how it works, anytime you buy a gun from a licensed gun dealer not at a gun show, they call a phone number and key in your dob and ss# and they quickly get a ‘yes or no’ answer with no details. I’ve been in gun stores when someone was turned down and they protested, but the shop owner quickly says he has no idea why they got the ‘no’ but only knows it is ‘no’.

There’s a lot he could do. The problem is that anything he does by executive order will immediately go to court. It will slowly wind its way through, probably under some sort of temporary stay on the order, and nothing gets done for another two years while it resolves.

It’s a start.

I think this is a ploy to get rid of all terrorists/potential terrorists from CT as they move to gun friendly TX

It’s funny and true at the same time. So long as things are chaotic it causes weak minded people to cling to the GOP and their archaic ideals.

With the Supreme Court’s refusal to overturn the lower court’s ruling that local bans on assault weapons are constitutional, it’s a good chance it stands up to lawsuit.

Here’s the thing, the NRA keeps pushing these issues in a court of law, but at some point, the law will be settled and they are going to lose. They are pursuing a horrible strategy. Let’s hope it continues.

But what about all the guns the terrorists already have?
In the meantime, there are already 300,000,000 firearms in homes all across America.
