Is airport security under Home Land Security? If so how would travel be affected?

It’s funded by fees you pay when you buy your ticket and is essential, so it won’t be. Customs and immigration inspections at airports and borders are essential as well and will continue,

In certain states you’ll be able to see every local goober with an open carry fetish show up at the airport to help out.

Is McConnell to cowardly to bring the immigration issue up for a separate vote ?

Of course he is because it would fail

Only 28% of TSA funding comes from fees charged to air travelers.Another 5% comes from the carriers. the remaing 67% is appropriated funds.

Keep in mind that ICE (including the Border Patrol), the Coast Guard, and the Secret Service are also now under the control of the Department of Homeland Security. The Republicans can’t possibly see this as improving their image on the national security front. Essential services may continue, but they’ll mostly be working without pay. And Congress will have to pay them their back wages when the outcry becomes loud enough, so they really aren’t accomplishing anything except showing, once again, what a bunch of clowns they are.

Homeland Security Agency headed for a shut down?

Great! Any way we can keep it that way?
The Republicans can’t possibly see this as improving their image on the national security front. Essential services may continue, but they’ll mostly be working without pay. And Congress will have to pay them their back wages when the outcry becomes loud enough, so they really aren’t accomplishing anything except showing, once again, what a bunch of clowns they are.
Their ONLY goal here is to phuq that ni**er in their White House. Country be damned.

Government shutdown is one thing. Not funding the DHS for all those hair-on-fire righties on terror watch 24/7 is a whole other kettle of fish. They’ll be pissing off a lot more than just Democrats this time if they fail to fund this agency. With McTurtle and Boner in charge of the whole shebang now, they’ll have no one to turn to but themselves. And all over immigration??? More fucking bullshit as usual by a bunch of petty assholes.

How many of these wingnuts will give a flying fuck then, after they refuse to fund the agency, when we can’t fully track “those bad middle-east extremists” in the country who will all have plenty of time to slip through the cracks, because the Pukes in Congress willfully chose to shortchange the country, and put real lives at risk?

All the talk about needing to deport little Juanita or Jose’ won’t mean a fucking thing to the average American if those RWNJs in elected office can’t and won’t protect the country. They continue to be a bunch of self-centered, ideological bullies, playing their tired game of chicken, with yet another wasteful attempt at hostage-taking. The country is tired of these antics. How dare anyone expect them to do the responsible thing for once and just fund that goddamn agency. Hell, they fucking invented that agency and insisted it was necessary after 9/11, didn’t they?

So where’s our security, our protection from all the bad guys out there, huh, Turtlebreath? The country will once again cross their fingers and hope nothing bad happens while these idiots sit around, and we wait for them to do their fucking jobs. That’s the “daddy party” for ya. All talk. They own this one completely. The president has already told them what to expect if they do it their way. Deal with it.
