The STUPID is STRONG with these ones…

It looks like stupid vs stupid to me. Provoking a confrontation is equally not smart. On either side.

One thing you can bet on… Stars and Bars wavers are either beer-fed fat or tweaker skinny, not much in between. No one is still waving that thing but weasels and pigs.

““We love the flag, but we don’t love racism, we don’t love slavery…We just stand for Southern heritage.””

Your heritage is racism and slavery, Jethro. This “heritage” nonsense is a bit like ordering a BLT and saying “hold the bacon” but then insisting it’s still a BLT.

So now, whenever victims stand up to bullies, they are bullies?

That is how the bullies get power in the first place, forcing their victims to shut up and take it quietly.

Anyone who thinks southern blacks have no right to be angry about history, and southern whites have every right to portray their slaver ancestors as men and women of honor, is either ignorant or secretly one of them.

Maybe not so secretly?

the Banner of Treason vs. the Victims of Treason.

Seems like a no-brainer to me.

It is a good thing that people in the south can openly say what they think about that treasonous rag without - hopefully - having to fear for their lives.

Yeah, but after years and years of being taught that their heritage isn’t racist, they don’t believe that they’re a bunch of racists.

Heard am old guy say once: “I don’t have a problem with n*****s so long as they know their place.”

And I know he didn’t identify himself as a racist though he certainly was.

Yes, it’s like the old “Oh, you libruls are all about tolerance. But what about my right to burn crosses on my neighbor’s yard? Huh? You intolerant hypocrite!”

Heritage is as heritage does.

Yeah, in the town I grew up in, I heard either:

  1. “Well, there’s blacks and then there’s niggers.”

or

  1. “Whites can be niggers, too.”

Nobody who said these things would have identified themselves as racist.

Actually, it’s like hold the bacon, the tomato and the lettuce and then calling your mayonnaise sandwich a BLT.

They’re not racist. They don’t hate the blacks. Just the niggers.

Look at these white supremacists…or should I say skanks!

These clowns actually believe they are better then, anyone? That’s completely delusional.

Police at the event said there were no reports of weapons, and that the event was “peaceful.”

There seems to be some discrepancy in that account.

I do wish the article made the effort to highlight why the police are full of shit. You owe it to your readers. Racist cops shouldn’t be allowed to get away with dismissing acts of hostility by other racist wingnut goobers in order to placate an unknowing and uninformed public. Isn’t there video evidence of weapons at this event and why weren’t these assholes arrested for incitement?

Plantation, Florida…that about says it all, don’t it?

You know, it’s an odd thing, but back in the really bad old days of Mississippi Burning and bombings and lynching, the real, dangerous evil ones were always whippet thin, high strung shits who projected a kind of hyper metabolic menace. Byron de la Beckwith, Dynamite Bob Chambliss, that type. The law enforcement types who were Klansmen were often obese, but nowadays, without fail, it seems like every member of the Klan is a three or four hundred pound lardass with piggy little eyes who, thankfully, can’t commit as many crimes as they used to because it’s too much work or involves going places their Hoverounds can’t go.

Did the rally planners choose Plantation, Florida, as the location with no sense of irony whatsoever? I’m guessing the answer is yes. Irony requires a capacity for reflection.

This one will get the folks “up North” going. From what I see here in comments there’s no lack or bigotry up there. You just direct it differently. Sniffit says the Flag mutually includes a love of racism and slavery. It does not. Many Southerners fly it as a “flag of the South” and although I’ve lived “down here” for many tears I’ve yet to hear a “tweeker” pig or weasel as JEP07 calls them yearn for a return to slavery.

It’s a flag that was flown in the South. I get that. But really folks is it possible your hatred of all things Southern is more the issue then what that foolish flag stands for? There is no slavery in America and there never will be. No one ( includin us down heyre ) wants it. The South has no monopoly on racism…I leaned that when I lived “up North”…you guys got it going on! But what really galls the folks down here, your fellow Americans, is the hubris the mighty fine folks above the Mason Dixon line ooze when they tell us what our flag stands for.

BLM is going to burn out if it keeps this shit up. Hijacking Sanders, attempting to hijack Clinton and ridiculous confrontations with Rednecks just makes a side show out of them. If black lives matter, and they do, their advocates might want to try a civil and principled approach to spreading that message. The flag has nothing to do with the current state of affairs for Blacks in America. You can burn everyone of them, which would not bother me at all, and NOTHING in Black America will change.

But the Battle Flag of North Virginia ( that’s what your bitching about ) isn’t yours to define anymore than the Gadsden flag was the Tea Party’s to define. They got it wrong and so did you. Flame away…
