You’re not getting the hints of Brimstone, similar to sulfur but with a deep dark burnt aroma.

…isn’t Australia close to Germany and don’t we… ooooooooooo Nevermind…the Holocaust was a hoax… says BiBi NetanYaaHOOOOOOOOOOO.

Meanwhile, what’s up with OMB nominee Mick Mulvaney? He got busted for nanny tax problems that have sunk nominations in the past. Right now it’s looking like he is going to try and brazen his way through it.

Trump: I want in on this deal. I am POTUS and I should get in before anyone else.

I am sure this is fine. He is a conservative Republican, christian, god-fearing, bible-loving. Let us move on since these are just alternative facts.

More importantly, President Trump should tell the Australian press and the Australian media to just Shut Up, just as he told the American media to. Where have our listening skills gone?

Maybe it’s just because it’s Monday, but I hope one of you smart TPMers can help me. I am not seeing the discrepancy between:

That directly contradicts Price’s testimony in his confirmation hearings that discounted shares of Innate Immunotherapeutics Ltd. “were available to every single individual that was an investor at the time."

and

Innate Immuno CEO Simon Wilkinson said in an interview with the Journal that those investors who had previously participated in private placement had been invited to “make friends and family aware of the opportunity” to buy discounted shares.

Is Price saying any investor in the world was offered this, or that anyone who had invested in Immunotherapeutics was offered it? Is the CEO saying something different than the latter? Very confusing to me.

Each one of these fucks can do massive damage on their own, while Trump/GOP chimera trashes what remains.

So a Congressman lied to a confirmation committee about money? Pffffttt…in Trump’s America, that’s a “great deal”!

And thus we see the need for legislation (Constitutional Amendment?) requiring anyone elected to public office, ANY public office, must immediately move all assets to a blind trust.

In addition to eliminating many ethics conflicts, it will be a guaranteed employment act for the “blind trust divisions” of all the Wall Street brokerages. The law should also lay out strict, minimal reimbursement schedules for the brokers.

This protects the “value” that individuals may have accumulated when not in office, not punishing them for being elected, but also limiting their profits from being in office.Or so I would hope…

The difference is the difference between “every single individual” and "those investors who had previously participated in private placement "

Private placement v. cold call investors.

“Private placement” is code for inside investors. They invest because of what the corporate officers say, not on advise of a broker at Merrill Lynch

For a man of Bernie’s age, that’s not a large net worth. As retirement income, it would only yield about $25,000/year if managed conservatively. It’s probably mainly based on appreciation of real estate.

Thanks for the argot clue. So Price was using “investor” to imply anyone could have gotten the deal, whereas the CEO was saying, no, this was just for our pets.

But even if he was just a cold-call investor, it’s still insider trading if he voted on laws affecting his own holdings.

Don’t think it would be “insider trading,” but it is a definite ethics violation (self-dealing).
