I donât understand the logicâif the Democratsâ motions failed, how does that delay the vote? Nevertheless, this isnât good news for âseason ticketsâ Kavanaugh.
WaPo said the following:
The move was expected â senators routinely delay committee business for one week, which is allowed under the panelâs rules. The Judiciary Committee voted 11-to-10 on Thursday to hold the vote at 1:45 p.m. on Sept. 20, and Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) is expected to set full Senate votes on Kavanaughâs confirmation for the final week of September.
Thanks for the inch, now letâs take the mile.
Every day, Every week helpsâŚ
Any extra time is not a friend to this nomination.
âThat way,â said McConnell, âEverybody will be concentrating on all the hurricane damage.â
Uh huh, right, Mitch. I suspect some wavering is happening âŚ
Either wavering or some Rethugs are holding out to get something out of Yertle to get them onboard.
Wonât that be hard with Trump looking for all the loose change lying around for his kinder prisons?
Maybe but I doubt it. Trump would want it next week on the theory Florence will have blown over so wouldnât be raining on his âVictory on Kavanaughâ. Thereâs at least 2 R Senators still working PR to avoid taking on fire from voting for Koach K, and delaying serves or caters to their anxieties.
But look at the naivete: Trumpâs taking a chance that Florence doesnât hit HIM, which shows incredible lack of understanding on how his FEMA is screwing the pooch on this. There actually may NEVER be a âbetterâ point for this supposed âgood Trump newsâ than now.
Iâm unclear on this as well. More time before he is confirmed only gives more time for more skeletons, docs to leak. Seems like it would be in GOP best interest for judiciAry GOP to vote him out of committee today and turtle to schedule vote for next week.
I wonder whatâs upâŚ
Ha ha ha , this is the Mc Connell, âoh darn I donât have the votesâ kind of delay.
