It doesn’t matter how much lipstick you put on it… it’s still a pig.

Don’t forget Texas which has very high property taxes.

The only people who will benefit from any of these so-called tax-cut proposals are those whose wealth approximates or exceeds that of Drumpf and his family.

How much crazier will Trump get when tax reform fails before Christmas?

No Democrat should ever use the term “high-tax state.”

Call them “productive states” or “powerful-economy states,” or “states that provide the services and infrastructure that allow their citizens to earn high incomes.”

How about prosperous states?

I was wondering about this. The AP went through some contortions to quote a rep from Texas about property taxes without mentioning that Texas has the 4th-highest property tax rate in the country. Makes him look “responsible” rather than just playing to his constituents. (And that rate probably hits about as hard as a 10% flat personal income tax rate)

“This is all about growth,” Mnuchin said.

That is a lie. It’s only one of the many lies the GOP is putting out to the public to try to get a tax bill passed. No one likes the bill except the very wealthy, including their donor class who are threatening to cut them off if nothing gets done.

I’m calling my Congress Critter on Monday morning. There should be no vote on any tax bill, at all, until we see the Lying Orange Urine-Stain’s Tax Returns.

And it’s the same old lie. Supply side shit dolled up in a new dress and new shoes. The only new twist is that nobody’s even trying to hide that they want to stick it to the middle class. Even McConnell walked his initial denial back.

Calling this a tax cut bill rates right up there with calling clear-cutting the “Healthy Forests” initiative.

Don’t forget: You can fax them for free from your computer or smartphone. No sign-up, no gimmicks, easy to use. Numbers provided for both House and Senate.

Fun Fact: Unlike phone calls, which can be ignored at will, faxes are considered physical communications and must be logged by law.

Wait! Lyin’ Ryan is also calling the pig in a poke a jobs bill. Jobs will not materialize, but tax rates on the middle class will rise. A jobs bill would fund building and repairing infrastructure, jobs that could not be outsourced.

This tax cut bill is a close second to “clean coal technology.”

Texas made sure they could never join the “prosperous” states by amending their constitution to never allow an income tax. The state has a high sales tax - 8.25% plus high property taxes to fund anything local.

Forget about SALT deductions! Most tax payers already have to be well into the six figures before any of that adds up to more than the standard deduction. The mortgage interest deduction is already worth nothing to most people. Democrats should be fighting to keep the the personal exemptions, combined with the $24,000 standard deduction. That would be a valuable middle class tax cut worth fighting for. Liberating the middle class from itemizing should be considered a double bonus, eliminating the fees of the tax preparer and sparing millions of people from saving receipts and from overspending because they mistook the tax deduction for a discount.

I would like some straight news reporting on the two bills Personally I are tired of nothing by hype from both sides.
