Discussion: Comey's Lawyer Dunks On Gowdy, Compares His Record To Mueller's

“What’s really interesting, you have Congressman Gowdy, who spent several years trying to get an investigation, spent tens of millions on Benghazi and came up with nothing,” Kelley said. “And in a fraction of that time, Bob Mueller has come up with upwards of 30 indictments. So that’s an interesting dynamic to these hearings.”

Ouch, burn ! Gowdy:remember ETTD !

The proper term for that in hoop analogy is not just “dunk”, it’s a “tomahawk dunk that broke the backboard”.

Not entirely sure how that fit into the larger contextual flow of the conversation but any time Gowdy gets a pie in the face I’m all for it.

Does Trey Gowdy have a permanent broom on his head?

Well, they’d better get their digs (or dunks) in while they can. They won’t have Gowdy to kick around much longer.

Does anybody have even a guess as to what the Republican strategy is here? I sure don’t. All I can think is that they are trying to expand the notion of a deep state conspiracy and further undermine law enforcement. I am trying to picture the “revelations” that they want to come out of this pointless hearing and I am drawing a blank.

Maybe there’s some condition where the follicles are backward and your hair grows up and toward the center of your head. No other way to explain it.

HAHAHA I was going to tell Riga that the proper term is “slam dunk.”

Something in radio, I’m guessing.

He tried cornering Mrs Clinton and over 10 hours she kept her cool and he got nothing. He is not running for Congress. Good. One idiot Republican gone.

I saw this interview yesterday and had to back the DVR up to hear the comment again (and again).

“No Brag, Just Fact.”

As hard as the Republicans want to discredit Mueller, every time they open their mouths, Mueller drops another shoe.

The strategy is to appease the base, for which any investigation of of anyone that Trump does not like is a conviction for the ‘crimes’ that are the subject of the investigation,

Hopefully this is the last gasp of “but her emails” Sadly I am sure it isnt though. Flogging dead horses seems to be a GOP specialty.

By not making it public, it leaves wiggle room for the base to say that the transcripts were forged by deep state operatives, or that Comey’s public comments after don’t match what really was said behind closed doors because how would we know except to trust the word of Comey (who they hate) or Republicans in Congress (who they readily accept regular lies from)

It packages everything neatly into a box that can be kept closed and shrouded because they know that their base willingly believes that a pedophile ring was headquartered in the basement of a building that doesn’t have a basement.

Comey’s lawyer just just fired a torpedo across the committee’s bow … close enough to peel the paint … and delivered a very clear blunt message … basically … this puts the committee on notice - you want a ‘hearing’ - OK … but if you think you can get clever and engage in some sort of political f#ckery and try to engage in some distorting gang attack on Comey … be forewarned Comey will be fully armed … he will be fully prepared to weave sizzling incendiary facts and comments into the heart of his responses … the ones he can speak about … and the ones that will be in the released transcript.

My sense is that this is being done at the direct request of Fat Nixon to try to throw up a smokescreen and muddy the waters around the now-illegal use of private emails by Fat Nixon’s Lust Object – for the sole purpose of having Team Fat Nixon then spout a lot of “See! Hillary did worse than Ivanka!” lies and nonsense.

Early Kobe, at that. Good catch.
