Discussion: Comey Will No Longer Give Scheduled Testimony Before Senate Intel Committee

Due to clairvoyance, I can offer Andrew G. McCabe’s testimony now, ahead of time:

McCabe: ā€œI do not recall that, Senator.ā€
…
McCabe: ā€œI don’t know.ā€
…
McCabe: ā€œSenator, I’ll have to get back to you on that.ā€
…
McCabe: ā€œI’m sorry, Senator, but I don’t remember.ā€

I do not know why they would not call him anyway. It is not like all of the knowlege that he has of the Trump Russia connection have suddenly vanished. Disheartening to say the least.

Republicans putting the ā€œintelligenceā€ in ā€˜intel’.

Wasn’t he also supposed to speak in a closed committee hearing? Is that still on?

Of course not. My only question: Was Comey allowed to fly home on the FBI jet that took him to California?

Well at least we’ll get to see if McCabe will be loyal to Trump or the country. Inquiring minds and all t hat.

Comey got what he deserved. As everyone knows, the one thing Trump will not stand for is someone being unfair to Hillary Clinton.

ā€œFiring of James Comey comes two days before Senate Intel Cmte was to hear from Comey in open settingā€

Nothing to see here, folks…just move along

Andrew G. McCabe became acting director of the bureau after President Donald Trump abruptly terminated Comey on Tuesday, a development Burr said ā€œtroubledā€ him.

Burr was ā€œtroubledā€ last night, but this morning said that he didn’t think an independent investigation was needed. He also admitted he had spoken with Trump this morning and that the conversation was ā€œpleasantā€.

So, the Repubs who seemed bugged by the firing, were all brought into line, it seems. I hate these spineless assholes so much. The whole treasonous lot of them can go burn in hell for what they are aiding and abetting.

Sucks to be Andrew McCabe.

Wow. Comey’s considerable knowledge can help somehow, though. It can be put to use can’t it?

That’s what today’s Republicans do. The GOP is a de facto theocratic party with intense tribal affiliations determining loyalty. Basically, it’s a fundamentalist religious cult with an intense hatred of apostasy and blasphemy.

Its mentality and worldview are very similar to the Catholic church of the Counter-Reformation in that it’s not conservative—it’s thoroughly reactionary in its obsession with ā€œrestoringā€ the ways things used to be.

An even closer similarity is to the Confederate South in the wake of Reconstruction—the GOP has fought a full-time guerrilla insurgency against the rest of the country for the insult of electing a black man to the Presidency. That was a slight that undergirded the entire identity of the Trump campaign and now the Trump Presidency—to undo everything that damn black Democrat did, and more.

And we’re largely powerless to do much about it unless and until we take back at least one house of Congress in 2018. There is nothing more important facing the new DNC leadership than that.

The fix is in …to say the least

I won’t be be bit surprised if the Orange Menace dodges a bullet.
Such is the state of politics and the 5th estate.

He can no longer speak as head of the FBI. Only reason to bring him in would be to investigate internal exchanges that involved him directly – as was the case with Yates. The investigation isn’t/wasn’t a Comey investigation. It is or was an FBI investigation.

So why are Trump* and McConnell moving against the FBI now that subpoenas have been issued by the Grand Jury but no one else?

Because the DNI; CIA and NSA can’t directly bring charges against anyone as non-law enforcement agencies.

Hope being able to say you were being ā€œimpartialā€ was worth it

Idunno. Might be just great to be Andrew McCabe. Depending on how he plays his cards he might have a very powerful job for as long as he wants.
