People turned into the inauguration hoping for terrorist fireworks or The Rapture?
The mainstream media hasn’t caught on yet that the entire population under the age of 40 only uses online streaming and blogs to get their news.
IT was pretty compelling television.
I agree it was compelling.
I also am rather thrilled that that many people think so too.
I believe that we will find that public sentiment will begin to turn away from Trump even more than it has already.
Comey came across and modest, honest, and able to admit his own failings.
That goes a long way with most decent people—and most Americans are decent people.
The contrast with Trump could not be more obvious.
I agree with that too.
”An estimated 19.5 million viewers watched James Comey’s widely televised U.S. Senate testimony.”
Sean Spicer responded, “The President’s numbers will easily top those when he appears before the Impeachment Committee.”
O snap!!!
Nielsen Schmielsen = baloney and sausage.
“The contrast with Trump could not be more obvious.”
That’s right. Obviously Comey made some dubious and unfortunate decisions during the election campaign. But the contrast between Comey and Trump is about as clear an opposition between good and evil as we are ever going to see in public life. Only those whose perception is fundamentally warped will be confused as to which one is which.
Hey, pundits - don’t try to tell me this is just a “Beltway thing”!
More people watched Comey testified than watched Game 3 of NBA Finals between the Cleveland Cavaliers and the Golden State Warriors!
And about the same number as for Game 2 of NBA Finals!
But haven’t those not already been in the never-Trump column? After all his tally came up 3M votes short.
i missed the pharmo covfefes. pretty zippy otherwise.
I wish I could agree. I was depressed to read a story in WaPo this morning with the headline, “Trump see Comey’s testimony as ‘complete vindication’ - and his fans agree.”
I guess we’ll have to wait for the next round of polls to see whether his approval ratings slipped some after Comey’s testimony. As WaPo points out, they’ve been holding relatively stubbornly in the mid-to-high 30s. Honest to god, I cannot fathom how anyone outside of his immediate family of fellow-grifters approves of anything he says or does, but there it is. Approximately 1/3 of the citizens in this country are on board with the OSG. Typing that sentence made my head spin!
It’s only 6:30 a.m. here on the east coast, and after reading what I just wrote, I feel like I need a drink or three.
I agree with this. Unfortunately, it seems that approximately 30-40% of the American people are fundamentally warped, because they still approve of Trump. That’s a significant enough chunk of a population to render a society dysfunctional.
Trump +2 in Gallup’s poll today.
Trump seems to have zero political risk in the mid-upper 30’s range for approval—zero.
I don’t think Trump will be removed from office for anything that has happened already.
Republicans have learned the lessons from Watergate, Iran Contra, Clinton: never waver, never budge one inch.
Next we will have Donald bitching about Comey’s ratings…
