I’ve heard more than enough from Comey, thanks.

Comey needs to stop talking; he’s leaking like a sieve. I know he can say what he wants now, but he seems to be convinced of his own infallibility. Also, that comment implies that McCabe did do something wrong. Comey is no longer in a position to decide, so he should just let the investigation unfold. He should also have kept his mouth shut about Clinton, BOTH times, and he should have whipped his NYC agents into shape and taught them to keep their mouths shut, too. He really is coming off as a self-serving fool.

I would have thought that Comey was talking about himself but for the fact that he describes the actor as a good person.

Republicans can’t seem to get their heads around the idea that Democrats can deplore Comey’s firing and believe him over Trump on every contested question of fact while also acknowledging that he’s a self-promoting sanctimonious douche.

Can not wait for Rudy’s testimony in this case.

Ya mean, like, intervening by offering public commentary on a private FBI report less than 2 months before an election, to safeguard reputation for probity? That kind of “shouldn’t do”?

C’mon, Sir. I respect you, but you fucked-up big time on that one.

So now King Sanctimonious is weighing in on McCabe? The demonizing of McCabe is appalling. And Comey piling on is just disgusting.

Jesus, Jim. Do you throw everyone under the bus? I’m getting tired of the holier than thou act. Bet you’re a hoot at a dinner party.

“Sometimes good people do things they shouldn’t.” “But not me. My heart is pure, and my actions are beyond reproach.”

Fuck you, Comey.

My “Comey” book arrived yesterday, and based on the past few days, I’m seriously beginning to wonder whether its worth even opening the package. From what I’ve seen, his book would have sold just as well, if not better, if he kept all the petty shit out of the book, and off the book tour.

He has Dotard by the jewel’s. The petty / tawdry stuff just diminishes his real message that Donnie is guilty as sin.

If I hear two more words, it’ll be too many. He’s coming off as a self-righteous, spineless, playing-it-down-the middle opportunist who both the left and the right don’t like.

@maximus @gajake I pre-ordered it in the frenzy to get the truth about PP, reconsidered, cancelled the order. He’s trying to be trumpp by insulting him, it doesn’t work.

I bought Comey’s book. My wife couldn’t believe a I wanted to read it. I think Comey has a major personality flaw related to his mistaken self concept as some sort of saint soldier, but I think one aspect of that is that it prevents him from lying to anyone but himself. So, I will read his book, and will probably believe what he writes about everyone but himself.

He spoke 11 days before the election about Clinton, which he’d segued into after talking about Weiner and Abedin’s email. MI, WI and PA were then PP’s to piss on and so he has.

I saw or heard John Dean being interviewed recently – can’t remember whether it was on Rachel Maddow or NPR – and he was asked about the timing of Comey’s book, given that his own book about Watergate didn’t come out until all the legal stuff was finished up. He said that someone had told him, when he talked about writing his own book about Watergate, not to do it until all the hearings were done, because anything he might say on the book tour that was even just slightly inconsistent with what was in the book, or could be misinterpreted that way, would be used to tear him up as a witness and impeach his credibility. And Dean thought that was good advice and delayed putting out his own book. He said he thought Comey was likely to be in for a rough time of it, and I think he is going to prove absolutely right about that, unfortunately.

“Sincerity itself is bullshit.”

As conscious beings, we exist only in response to other things, and we cannot know ourselves at all without knowing them. Moreover, there is nothing in theory, and certainly nothing in experience, to support the extraordinary judgement that it is the truth about himself that is the easiest for a person to know. Facts about ourselves are not peculiarly solid and resistant to skeptical dissolution. Our natures are, indeed, elusively insubstantial - notoriously less stable and less inherent than the natures of other things. And insofar as this is the case, sincerity itself is bullshit.
