Discussion: Colorado Man Shoots 3 Cops Who Were Trying To Serve Eviction Notice

Discussion for article #246458

ā€œIt seems to me that he was just pushed to the end of his rope, and he tried every single approach to addressing his grievances, and at the end, he chose to not let them take his house away from him,ā€ said Tim Holland, who was involved in the Occupy Denver movement with Wirth. ā€œItā€™s the middle of winter in the mountains. Where was he going to go?ā€

So the murderer was the real victim here? He tried every single approach, except moving out and not killing people. And he doesnā€™t have his house now either.

Where was he going to go? Youā€™re his buddy - did you suggest he live with you, since it was the middle of winter?

Since he has now killed someone in order to fight foreclosure, it doesnā€™t much matter whether heā€™s foreclosed upon or not.

Heā€™ll be living somewhere else from now on.

ā€¦or actually paying his mortgage in a timely manner.

What a freakishly weird mixture of left wing and right wing ideological extremism this guy apparently embodied. One minute he sounds liek a 'sovereign citizen" type and the next heā€™s at Occupy rallies? WTF?

Great comment!!

Anyway, what would the stoic philosopher Cliven say? Yep, shooter or not, "He was basically crucified."

Iā€™m confused. Is t he government ā€˜the bad guyā€™ because his mortgage was with Fannie Mae? Was it even possible for him to get a private mortgage and if he could have, would it then have been THEIR fault when he didnā€™t pay his bills? When the hell is foreclosure YOUR fault and not somebody elses?

Take all the guns from all the Republican anti givernment dudes. They have stashes of them and they think they are above the law. Throw them in jail and throw away the key.
Could he have paid his house payment if he hadnā€™t spent all his money on guns? Just asking. Oh right, 2nd amendment so he can steal from and shoot anyone he wishes. Dah!

When you are Black.

Thinks Iā€™ve learned this year.

The Evangelical vote is NOT about religion, abortionā€¦ You know 'cause they can support blasphemous Trump. Just ask blasphemous, crazy Cruz and his misus.

And anti government is NOT about the government. It is about their ill perceived right to do what they want, including shotting whomever and stealing from whomever. Just ask the Bundy bunch.

ā€œThey are a brutal impediment to human progress a danger to us all,ā€ one post said. ā€œBecause I write such things, cops want me dead.ā€

As also happens when you shoot at them.

We call this ā€˜failing to take all your medicine at the allotted timesā€™ syndrome.

Indeed. Most brain damaged part is this notion that he had that he was defending his property and home when the whole thing was over him failing to pay for it in the first place.

Itā€™s like the old political spectrum that put revolutionaries on the extreme left and radicals on the extreme right. If you look at it like a circle, those two groups eventually meet as ā€˜wingnutsā€™, more interested in violence than anything else.

Actually, heā€™s dead. So heā€™ll be residing in a pine box and/or urn.

ā€œIt seems to me that he was just pushed to the end of his rope, and he tried every single approach to addressing his grievances, and at the end, he chose to not let them take his house away from him,ā€ said Tim Holland, who was involved in the Occupy Denver movement with Wirth. ā€œItā€™s the middle of winter in the mountains. Where was he going to go?ā€

Shorter Tim Holland, reality checked: He was aggrieved that the laws applied to him and no one thought he was an exception. So he shot someone.

Where was he supposed to go? From other news reports it appears he hadnā€™t been paying his mortgage for several years and had failed to make over $110,000 in monthly mortgage payments. Perhaps during that time he could have saved up some money for his first and last monthā€™s rent in a new apartment.

A gun in hand doesnā€™t automatically make anyone a ā€œgood guyā€. Itā€™s usually just the opposite.
