Discussion: 'Color Us Unimpressed': Iranian Government Brushes Off Trump Threats, Sanctions

" accusing several by name of participating in rampant corruption, and called its religious leaders “hypocritical holy men” who amassed wealth while allowing their people to suffer. " Sounds more like Trump’s behavior in his own country.

Under Trump and his gang of neo-Nazis, the US is losing its influence internationally and our nation will one day regret that McConnell and Ryan and the Republicans defended him and enabled him…if not being complicit in his treasonous activity.

America: Do you think the NATO countries will back us and join us if Trump attacks Iran? Under Trump and Putin it is more likely the NATO countries will actually have to protect their strategic interests and for the 1st time be opposed to the US actions. Putin wins!

MAGAats wake up…you are supporting a Russian traitor and member of the Russian mob. Trump is a member of the Putin mob and global neo-Nazi movement. Trump doesn’t care about you or our nation.

I’m just glad that Trump’s courage got Assad out of power.

Or, to put it visually …

Not Impressed

The “verbal war” if there is such a thing, between NK and the USA ended because NK never had a game to play. Iran does. Iran has a large, modern and well trained military. If we were to engage it we’d up against the most powerful force we’ve fought since WW2. It is a military ally with Russia too.

Just like NK NEVER posed a threat to the USA the USA DOES NOT pose a military threat to Tehran and they know that. And the cultural dissonance in Trump’s actions are so huge I wonder if anyone advising him has a clue how things work in other parts of the world. In Iran bravado and threats are made for domestic consumption. " The Great Satan" is for Iranian domestic appeal. Iran would fare no better in conflict with the USA than the USA would. But they have to look up to the deal in the eyes of their people. That’s what their yak is about. Along comes Trump with empty threats which “do not compute” in Iran. They’re probably trying to figure out what’s in this for Trump since that’s how motives work in Iran. But Trump can’t play the same game with Iran he played with NK. Talk up a storm then claim victory when he changes tune. No way that flies with guys as smart as Iran’s leadership.

be a warrin’ preznit, distract populace from the treasoning.

Hoping dotard’s handler Vlad pulls his choker chain hard to send the message that bombing Vlad’s buds in Iran is not an option.

Thus begins a new generation of amputation, PTSD abd screwed up kids. Just as everyone’s health insurance is being freshly takin away.
But football players will stand. “God Bless America” will replace “Take Me Out to the Ball Game” as the new obligatory 7’th inning stretch music, and you’d damned well better stand for that shit, too. Probably be all 17 verses of “America the Beautiful” for a fcuking halftime show.

Next tweet from our snowflake POTUS: “NEVER EVER SAY YOU ARE NOT IMPRESSED WITH ME AGAIN OR YOU WILL SUFFER CONSEQUENCES THE LIKES OF WHICH FEW THROUGHOUT HISTORY HAVE EVER SUFFERED BEFORE.”

“Color Us Unimpressed?” C’mon Iran, you’ll have to do better. The bar for accurate and denigrating descriptions of our traitor-in-chief from foreign adversaries is set at “Dotard,” a high bar indeed.

massive corruption and widespread rights abuses

Why does that seem so…familiar?

Zarif followed up by sarcastically tweeting a music video:

I’m still wondering (not deeply) as to how these Tweets conform with Twitter’s right to service policy - isn’t this stuff inflammatory? Wouldn’t they have already shut down anyone else for making such inflammatory statements? Are they really that money hungry that history books could well point to Twitter as providing the cheap and easy mechanism to the next world war?

I guess money is too important. Maybe this is monetizing?

Since Trump has consistently polled at better than 50% disapproval since his second month in office, I’d say the nation has regretted it every day for the past 17 months - and will continue to regret it every day going forward.

Which is why Trump won’t ever actually engage Iran militarily - Putin will order his pet president to stand down if it ever even gets close to moving beyond tweet bluster.

Trump might not realize it but if the US alone (with Israel and Saudi Arabia) imposes sanctions, the US is inflicting a wound on itself. Unilateral sanctions don’t work when Iran has access to China, the EU and the rest of the world.

The people you’re thinking of are called “foreign policy experts” and “diplomats”. Trump got rid of them.

Less and less do I see us as one nation, and increasingly more like Red and Blue nations. Trump polls over 50% approval in a bunch of states; especially the South and Appalachia. In West Virginia it was over 60%

Well, aren’t Orange Julius’ rants meant for his base? He howls and then Pompeo or whoever backtracks.
