“Hmm, someone other than Cheetolini running for president in 2020…?”

I don’t listen to much Tur or Jackson say, and as journalists they are only mediocre. But 45 treated Tur very badly when she was embedded in his campaign, mocking her in front of arena crowds and on Twitter, she had to be escorted out by police on one occasion. But no, it doesn’t mean she’s a good reporter. But she was a survivor, so she’s good with MSNBC.

He derided her as “Little Katy,” recommended that she be fired, called her “incompetent,” “dishonest,” a “3rd rate reporter.” His most frequent complaint: that she wasn’t reporting the size of his campaign crowds (“Katy — you’re not reporting it, Katy,” he bellowed at one point. “There’s something happening, Katy.”)

Imagine the possibilities. Trump can enlist fellow inmate Rod Blagojevich as a running mate.

Yes, I remember all of that. She’s still a terrible reporter. One example in particular is that she prides herself on asking Democrats who is the one leader of the Democratic Party. Everyone tells her the same thing, that there are several leaders of the party, but that there isn’t just one particular person. She then says the person isn’t answering the question and pats herself on the back for stumping them. I’ve seen her do it several times.

Except why would you ask her? She didn’t support his nomination or his election, so she seems already to have reached that point.

She did say “for example.” Plus, supporting a sitting president might be different from supporting a nonpresident who is merely a candidate.

No, it was a stupid answer from Collins.

It’s easy to keep asking inane questions. Joy Reid is the gold standard among reporters. She can shut down 45’s supporters better than anybody, with finality and a sense of humor.

No senator gives the answer to the question they’ve been. They give the answer they want the reporter to hear even if it’s off-topic. You can stop beating up on this senator now for doing the same…

I like Chris Hayes, too. And Rachel Maddow, of course.

I don’t watch a ton of CNN, but Chris Cuomo has seemed pretty good when I’ve watched him.

I’d put Lawrence O’Donnell at the top of list along with Hayes and Rachel. Lately I’m minimizing TV talkers, it’s too frantic sometimes.

After witnessing what has already transpired it is “too difficult to say”… ?the whole group is already off the rails ,now they are making excuses for their own relentless cowardice.

A lot has been made of Susan Collins running for governor of Maine but maybe she is setting her sights higher. Collins 2020?

She brooks no bullshit.

Nope. The time for being a politician is over. We need government again - a bipartisan one that puts country above party. Her answer was doing nothing but maintaining the party line - “He’s our president, blah, blah, blah.” This has to stop.

You might think it has to stop and people would agree. But it’s the nature of the beast, all 100 of them, even the ones I sometimes admire. Being candid didn’t get them where they are, but it’s the votes they cast at crunch time that matters, not the blah blah with a mediocre reporter who has air time to fill. That’s why Sunday a.m. talks fests don’t matter any more. It’s now just blah blah.

It’s not just that Trump’s a racist, though. Racism is more or less hardwired into the Republican ethos so no surprise more of them aren’t rearing up on their hind legs and spewing random hypocrisies.
