Obviously she’s not a real republican
Shorter Collins: I have to say it because I must look moderate. I will, however be glad to vote for it as one would expect.
Exactly! I’m sick and tired of McCain, Collins, Graham, Snowe and their ilk talking like reasonable people, then voting like sheeple. Either walk the walk, or shut up with the talk.
Mitch McConnell gives her treats from a bag every time she does her faux-outrage trick for him.
Lucy really does look like a young Susan Collins.
She’s a Republican first and foremost. Never forget that. I’m a Mainer and am quite familiar with her antics.
Add Jeff Flake to that list of deplorables in bipartisan clothing.
Doubts about her reliability aside, is the bill in trouble? It must be in some trouble right? Conservatives hate it, retirees hate it? Looks like the medical establishment is not on board? Dems loathe, and must be must be less than rock hard support among women, even accounting for the ruralist tea partiers & nutjobs?
The big question is: can we ram this through and be re-elected? That’s the bottom line
Yeah, “not well received”…like a turd on the Easter dinner table. WWJD? Why, he’d climb onto his chair, hike up the ole Holy Tunic and shit on the ham of course. Would you like the yellow or the brown mustard?
Wow and to think it took the GOP only 7 years to come up with this plan. Who knew governing was hard work.
Asked about conservatives who oppose the tax credits laid out in the House bill, Collins argued that the credits are necessary. “We should be trying to help very low-income afford health insurance,” she said.
Holy shit something sensible from a Republican…psst Susan, most republicans don’t give a shit about poor folk.
Neither does she in reality.
We just bear in mind that Flake is up for reelection in 2018.
Hey I said most! I’d say with this statement that she at least acknowledges that a tax break is going to do nothing for people that probably pay little if any taxes because they make so little. She may not like poor folks but realizes she needs to do a little for them to keep them off her lawn.
Does this mean a no vote for the forked tongue anti-ObamaCare repub senator?
Don’t count on it. Doesn’t walk the walk.
She gives us hope that she will be an independent voice… then she falls in line. Hopefully, she can see what a disaster this is and hold firm.
"I want us to slow down and take more time to be sure we get this right,” she told Couric.
That’s fatal to Ryan’s plans, I think, if she sticks to that. Their best hope, as far as I can tell, is to ram it through immediately. If they “slow down and take more time,” that just allows the opposition to grow. This isn’t one of those bills that people start out hating and then grow to love; this is one of those bills that people start out hating and then grow to utterly loathe.
