Discussion: Collins: 'If We Need Additional Help From The FBI,' We Can Ask For It After A Hearing

What a champion for women. Such strength.

Now she’s trying to cover her ass in both directions - pathetic, embarrassing. Her suggestion makes no sense at all. Not even a fig leaf on this inane, disrespectful kangaroo court Republicans have planned for Dr. Ford on Monday. Ford should decline to participate until there’s a reasonable, respectful plan, Susan Collins should go fuck herself.

She has joined the ranks of the Feckless C**&*&

This is not a trouble, concerned, or moderate advocate for women. This is a cynical hypocrite. But, as we know she’s a Republican, I might as well not bother pointing it out.

Collins is a troll. Why doesn’t she want Ford’s lawyers to get Mark Judge and Patrick Smyth (Kavanaugh’s alleged accomplices) to testify under oath?

Why do they get to set terms to the Senate?

Should we ask for that help before or after we ask for our healthcare? And should a woman ask for help from the FBI before or after Brett Kavanaugh helps to take away their right of choice?
Why, with such stalwart defense of the rights of women by super-feminist Senator Susan Collins, I predict that it is only a matter of time before Ricky lets Lucy sing at the club!
Oh, and Senator Collins: don’t be concerned with the men standing behind you. If you need to let one rip in the elevator, Mitch McConnell will help you cover up your little lack of good manners. Like he always does.

“elicit the most information, and provide continuity”

Hahahaha

Such a surprise that Susan Collins is still Susan Collins.

So crestfallen.

'Collins has suggested that attorneys for Blasey Ford and Kavanaugh should be allowed to question each other’s client, which she told WVOM “would elicit the most information, and provide continuity.”

Collins added Wednesday that she’d received a “quite positive” response from Committee Chairman Chuck Grassley (R-IA) regarding that proposal.

“They certainly have not rejected my suggested,” Collins said, referring to the Judiciary Committee.’

“We” as in the GOP? “We” as in donald f’ing trump? “We” will ask for help from the FBI? If needed?

Right, Suze, sure. Except you won’t decide it’s needed. But I know you have to pretend so you can get all your free, positive press about being that rarest of all unicorns, a “moderate” republican.

And what will happen is this. Immediately after the Monday hearing, the committee will vote on whether it needs additional investigation by the FBI, and by 11-10, it will decide it doesn’t. And right after that, it will vote 11-10 to send the nomination to the full Senate. Susan Collins is either the most trusting member of Congress, or the stupidest.

Not quite right. She did that a long time ago. Nothing new here. Just more of the same.

Exactly.

I have this feeling that Grassley and the rest of the GOP are terrified of Ford testifying in an open session. I really hope she decides to testify publicly, just to see them eat shit, especially that insidious little drama queen Lindsey Graham, who inferred that Ms. Ford’s allegations were made just to delay a SC vote until after the midterms. Bite me, Lindsey.

Susan Collins is a useless craven hypocrite. Dems don’t like her, Republicans don’t like her either. No one respects her. As Martin Longman points out, she is the “Lamb of the Senate”. I call her the “Troll of the Senate”.

"With the death of John McCain, the senior senator from Maine, Susan Collins, now ranks thirteenth in seniority in Congress’s more prestigious and deliberative body. Among Republicans, only Orrin Hatch, Chuck Grassley, Mitch McConnell, Richard Shelby, James Inhofe and Pat Roberts are more senior. Unsurprisingly, those senators hold positions of great responsibility. Mitch McConnell is the Senate Majority Leader. Richard Shelby controls the spending as chair of the Appropriations Committee. Orrin Hatch controls tax law as chair on Finance, while Chuck Grassley oversees the courts as the head of the Judiciary Committee. Senator Pat Roberts of Kansas sets agricultural policy and James Inhofe is now the senior Republican on the Armed Services Committee.

Strangely, however, Susan Collins is only allowed to chair the Special Committee on Aging, a toothless body that rarely meets and has no authority to draft legislation. Her only real power comes from her seat on Appropriations where she is allowed to chair the spending of the subcommittee of least interest to conservatives: Transportation, Housing and Urban Development, and Related Agencies."

Let me guess:

Oh, investigate Ford if she testifies? Haha…great idea!

Just more Collins’ dissembling. Rest assured that she will cave in to her GOP bosses, just as she always does.
