She is right that others are getting away with this travesty. Every Republican sack of filth that voted for this should have their home address printed along with a suggestion that if their constituents don’t see that $4K raise they can go see them about making up the difference out of their pocket.

How disappointing that a women senator calls out the sexist card. Can you image Obama saying to his complaining supporters about something he did, and say they were against him because he was black? This is how she brushoffs their concerns, the protesters concerns are not really about the issues, but about her personally. It seems odd that she has been reelected so now it is because she is a woman that she is getting criticism only because she is a woman, not that she just voted to kick 13 million people off health insurance.

For a woman who was looking to run for Gov., she has totally destroyed her political career. It’s over. She couldn’t get reelected as Sen. or get elected as Gov. so it’s baffling what’s she’s doing here. Easy to say she’s just bowing to big corporations and donors but that doesn’t help her in the end. Still, I’d like to know who her big donors are and what is going on here. It’s almost unfathomable that her constituents have so loudly and clearly told her to vote no and she comes up with the lamest of excuses and lays open that she is stupid enough to trust a promise from leadership on something we all know they never will. She’s been there long enough to know that is never a guarantee, promises from leadership are never kept. And why would she do this just to claim a republican “victory” when that won’t help her either?
The woman just torpedoed her career and for what?

Give credit where due. She didn’t roll over the minute the mics were turned off, as RoJo and Rubio did, or pretend she didn’t know what was happening, like Corker. She stood tall for at least 8-10 hours before caving. Compared to the others I mentioned, she’s a mensch.

Their constituents don’t care about anything promised in this bill. So long as Trump is kicking blacks and Hispanics while they’re down, firing scientists and public school teachers and denying women reproductive rights the base will remain loyal. If there was a way to pay the base with hate they’d sleep under a bridge and eat beans in exchange for envelopes fat with the stuff.

She was referring to, or making hay out of, or trying to distract people with, a report by Alan Rappeport in last Friday’s NYT, in which it was written that, after meeting with pro-Obamacare protesters who suffer from a variety of serious medical problems, “it did not appear that Ms. Collins was ready to change her vote, or that she had been brought to tears.”
Rappeport was a fool (at best) to write that last clause and his editors were idiots (at best) to leave it in.

being taken for a ride is not the restricted to either m either males or females. There are vain, nieve people of both genders that fall for false promises. What is sexist is for the willing participant in the hoax blaming their participation in other peoples sexism.
It has been entirely predictable for some time now that Senator Collins would, as she always does, find a way to talk one line and vote another. With her latest vote on the Republican Tax bill she has gotten a “twofer” She voted for the Republican Middle-Class Tax Increase Act and was also able to “correct” her vote on the repeal of the Affordable Care Act.

Obviously I haven’t had enough coffee yet, but I was trying to convey how ludicrous her entire posture on this has been. Throwing away what little credibility you might have had to hand Donnie a so-called “victory” just doesn’t make sense.

The reporters aren’t being sexist. Her sex has nothing to do with the obvious reality that she has been duped. Any Senator with 20 years experience should expect to be laughed at for being a fool.
