Discussion: Colleague: Bannon Said Curbing Black Vote Wouldn’t Be ‘Such A Bad Thing'

If you have to tie yourself in knots to justify a comment you’d be better off shutting up. Bannon runs a website that gets people hurt. It blames traditional recipients of bigotry for the worlds problems. There’s a lot of history to look at if you want to see where this goes. Check out B’bart if you want to see who this man is.

He’s not a normal man. He’s got a steely self confidence that should alarm us. He’s never going to see wrong in himself and as long as he’s allowed to stay in a position of power he’ll hurt people. Like he said above…“that’s not such a bad thing”.

Oh to think what Ulysses Grant would do were he informed the chief strategist of the Republican Party is the reincarnation of Andrew Johnson.

Writer Julia Jones told the New York Times in an interview that Bannon, who was recently named as Trump’s chief White House strategist, would occasionally claim that some people were genetically superior and once suggested that the vote should be limited to property owners.

Folks can’t say that they weren’t warned.

By the way, this newfangled ‘populism’ would likely affect the majority of Stein and Johnson voters. #yougetwhatyoupayfor.

The days of old style dog whistling have passed.

In their current and past actions. My question is how honest they’re being with themselves in their private thoughts about the worst-case scenarios. Do they realize Trump is not, in fact, controllable, and that he’ll inevitably lead them and the party over a cliff? That there are no good scenarios ultimately, and they have to choose a least bad, and that quickly? Trying to look past the surface, whistling-past-the-graveyard stuff here. If you think I need to be oh-pleased out of some sort of naiveté about them I can tell you there’s no need.

It’s fear.

Not sure about McConnell, but at last check, Trump is a lot more popular than Paul Ryan.

No doubt. But how much you want to bet they’re sharpening their knives for the time when that popularity starts to crumble? They can’t move until then, but I think they’ll be ready to.

President Obama: “Well I told ya not to boo, I told you to vote.”

Depends.

Chances are Trump is keeping Ryan ‘alive’, because he’s probably scared at who would be Ryan’s replacement.

McConnell can rely on Rubio, but he would have to rely on Cruz as well…

Good luck with that Mitch.

I don’t have it gamed out to your extent. All I feel sure of is you have the GOP, such as it is, on one side, and Trump and his minions on the other. Neither is capable of making the other look good. The one represents near-certain disaster for the other. So something’s gotta give.

Trump may actually be the least racist and anti-Semitic and misogynistic person you know if you knew only Trump and Bannon.

Same here. My life literally is at stake, as my blood pressure has spiked since November 8th. Had to quit coffee too, and substitute 5 mile walks with dog.

GOP: Old news; we have been doing this forever. With VRA gone and god Sessions at AG, we should be in power… forever.

“She’s different. She’s family,” Jones said he replied. Maybe he calls her Mammy. Just a guess.

Considering how warped their sense of reality is I wouldn’t be surprised if they literally cannot see what they actually look like. Bannon in particular looks like he he reeks of really bad, lighter-fluid whiskey.

No, they’re too busy telling us to “get over it.”

Most of it is, this one for sure as well the illegal voting noise. The sooner we call it a white nationalist movement instead of the polite, wussy alt right, the better we’ll be at tearing away any remaining respectability orange has.
