Oh, you bet he would !

Well, after implicating Trump in court, no.

my money is on that he would take whatever he could get by way of pardon or commutation, albeit grudgingly.

I really hope heā€™s preparing to sing for his supper, and maybe not need a pardonā€¦ Iā€™d be happy with him serving a few years in a not so savage pokey if it meant that trump got absolutely destroyed by what he knows.

He seems like one of two guys who know where every body is buried, so cheep cheep lilā€™ mischa.

Mikey will only be marginally safer in Federal Prison, after Putin goes after the person who derailed his bigly yuge investment in the USA.

Cohen ā€˜Would Not Acceptā€™ Trump Pardon

Oh you might rabbit. You might.

Heā€™d be a fool to accept a federal pardon since Trump canā€™t absolve him of guilt in state charges which are probably the sword of Damocles hanging over Cohen and his newfound honor.

Yeah, ummm, after Cohenā€™s admissions in court yesterday, Iā€™m going to go ahead and file this one under ā€œnon-issue.ā€

Pretty soon, Dotard may not be able to issue pardonsā€¦

U.K. prediction market Betfair shows implied probability of Trump leaving before his first term spiked to the highest level in three months (36% from a low of 21% in July) after Tuesdayā€™s two courtroom events.

That ā€¦ and the fact that Cohen knows the magnitude of the fountain of dreck that the Feds have accessed - and that a Trump pardon has a high probability of becoming worthless - and possibly a curse.

A Trump pardon - received by a co-conspirator - could become like receiving stolen property - or receiving a big bag full of counterfeit $100 bills - not just worthless - but potentially another prosecutable offense.

I wonder how many short-timers in the administration, and from the campaign, are reassessing their loyalty in light of how badly the Trump-Cohen relationship has crashed and burned. If this is how his most loyal, longest-tenured associates come out of the deal, how might I be treated?

I hope Donald Trump is thinking about this, too! (he is not, because he is A Idiot)

So, no pardon. No cooperating with Mueller. Lanny didnā€™t bring it up at the interview.

Then all this offering up of more dirt on Trump is for what purpose?

Would SDNY consider this when sentencing time comes? Do they care? Should they care?

Whatā€™s Lanny up to?

Lanny Davis had a talk with John Dean. Likely to find out how to reduce his clientā€™s sentence. Dean continually gave up info, until he eventually served only four months, and not even in a prison.

On August 2, 1974, Sirica handed down a sentence to [John] Dean of one-to-four years in a minimum-security prison. However, when Dean surrendered as scheduled on September 3, he was diverted to the custody of U.S. Marshals, and kept instead at Fort Holabird (near Baltimore, Maryland) in a special ā€œsafe houseā€ holding facility primarily used for witnesses against the Mafia.

He spent his days at the offices of Jaworski, the Watergate Special Prosecutor, and testifying in the trial of Watergate conspirators Mitchell, Haldeman, Ehrlichman, Robert Mardian, and Kenneth Parkinson, which concluded on January 1, 1975. All except Parkinson were convicted, largely based upon Deanā€™s evidence. Deanā€™s lawyer moved to have his sentence reduced and on January 8, Judge Sirica granted the motion, adjusting Deanā€™s sentence to time served, which wound up being four months. With his conviction for felony offenses, Dean was disbarred as a lawyer in Virginia and the District of Columbia, so he could no longer practice law.

Iā€™m imagining a scenario where he strokes out, on the way to the ER he sees dead people, his old man, his dead brother, all of them, realizes heā€™s dying, shouts out to the EMT ā€œTake a memo, tell them Iā€™m resigning. Make sure Fat Pompeo gets it first.ā€

You are quite the optimist.

Come on Lanny! Get real! Cohen was complicit in the conspiracies and defrauded the government with tax evasion. Now you want to paint him as a man of conscience, patriotism and honor?
