Well, actually, Manafort has been sent to Club Fed as it’s known locally–Allenwood–where some of the Watergate felons served their time. Apparently it’s not as cushy as its nickname suggests. At least not anymore. It’s a mere 12 or so miles from my house.
Frankly, I was hoping they’d make that little bitch pay for his stay.
I thought the defense and judge agreed to send him to FCI Cumberland?
Well, I am kind of curious why the NY Post or Forbes, of all fucking people in the world, has an issue with Cohen going to a low security classification federal prison. Cohen has no prior record. He has not had violence in his modus operandi.
I suppose Forbes and the NY Post, who would gnash their teeth and rent their garments if Donald Trump or one of his family members had to go to prison and had to go to a high security classification prison like Marion, where everyone is held in solitary confinement. But maybe Trump will now try to order someone at the BOP to designate Michael Cohen to Devil’s Island or Alcatraz. Promise a pardon if he or she gets caught.
Conjugal visits in this here castle?
Unfortunately under Don the Con’s DOJ they have little to worry about joining his ex-fixer…
A May 2018 analysis from Syracuse University’s Transactional Records Clearinghouse (TRAC) reports that the volume of federal white-collar fraud prosecutions is at its lowest level in twenty years.
Correction. He’ll serve around 18 months.
if only he had to spend a weekend at rikers before passing thru…
Come on TPM, you are the only new media I am willing to pay to read. Please stay away from distorted descriptions of a prison. I wouldn’t call the article clickbait, but the lack of any context starts to put it into that realm.
Even if it’s much better conditions compared to (all) other BOP facilities or any state facility, it’s prison. Cohen will be locked up. He will not have his freedom. And no matter how nice the prison might be, he’s not home with his family.
And quite frankly, we’d be doing ourselves as a society a favor and reformed those non-castle prisons since 90% of incarcerated will come back to society.
