I have no sympathy for First Lady. She knew what she was getting into when she met DJT. She knew what she was doing when she dated and then married him. She got her Fifth Avenue life style without have to renew her expired visa.

Maybe I’m having trouble seeing the forest from the trees here (always possible in 2019) but I suspect this charming anecdote could have an impact on his support with women, which has always been inexplicably higher than it should be.
I know, I know, if the Access Hollywood tape and credible sexual assault allegations etc etc etc didn’t do it, why would this make a difference…but I feel like a lot of his support with women comes from the fantasy of him as a protector/daddy/provider and as disgusting as it sounds, women with a savior complex see him as someone who will come in and fix everything. Someone they can trust.
So in that sense, they see themselves as his partner and this story is arguably much more embarrassing to Melania than the affair and coverup. There was an idea that they had a “separate lives are happy lives” philosophy in which each are allowed to do his/her own thing and there was an understanding. This reveals Melania to be an even bigger chump than we knew, the joke in the room between her husband and his fixer. Oof.
Beyond that, it has the advantage of being 100% credible in the context of the situation and it reveals Trump to be not just a cheater and a liar but a stubborn one. The kind of liar so committed to protecting his fallacies that he has to degrade others, forcing them down in the gutter with him for company. Dominance politics strike again. Anyway. Back to MSNBC.
