Who has more to gain by continuing to lie? The answer is as orange as it is obvious.

A fair number have already made up their minds and nothing will change the perceptions.

Speaking, of course, of the minions.

This quote is also attributed as an original statement to the ever-witty Cadet Bone Spurs as part of ā€œThe Cockholster Credoā€ (item eight) in American Media, Inc.'s latest supermarket glossy Hero In Vietnam: The Summit Days.

Despite the Matt Gaetz (who once wore orange!) threatening tweet, Cohen looked better and happier than he has in a very long time when he left the Senate closed hearing.

The funny thing is that the American people already know both men are constant liars.

However, we also know that both men have been telling Trumpā€™s lies, to protect Trump. That universally-known fact serves to enhance Cohenā€™s credibility (on these topics) while undermining Donaldā€™s. In court, I think itā€™s known as a statement against interest.

I wonder whether Cohenā€™s testimony could damage Trump so badly that it peels away Senate support for Trumpā€™s wallā€¦

I think the problem here is this: It doesnā€™t matter.

There will be no outcome, there will be no upshot. There will be no repercussions.

Unless there are a pair of handcuffs somewhere in Orange Moronā€™s future, it doesnā€™t matter.

I donā€™t know if anyone stayed up or woke up and has been seeing the advance copy of his remarks but OMG heā€™s confirming everything. Bottom line: Trump knew and itā€™s a conspiracy to defraud the United States. Bonus bottom line: everything else, it would seem. Heā€™s giving it up.

Doesnā€™t make any difference. On the inside of jail, everyoneā€™s a lawyer, just sayin.

Iā€™m not sure about ā€œeverythingā€. One part thatā€™s missing for me is what were they planning to do with the millions (that we know about) that Essential Consultants LLC took in from various corporations looking to pay for access to the president? EC LLC paid out the hush money to three women (again, that we know about), but it took in a lot more money than that. What other payments did EC LLC make?

Aargh fine everything in that heā€™s hitting the highlights, not everything as in everything the bastard was ever accused or suspected of, OK? He knew about the Wikileaks drop beforehand, because Stone called him and kept him in the loop and Cohen heard the call. He was explicitly lying about the Trump Tower Moscow negotiations. He directed the payments to Stormy, knowingly not declaring it as a campaign contribution. He committed crimes as president. Various prosecutors can and will look at the shakedowns you reference but damn, letā€™s focus, this is a human voice saying ā€œHe did this and this and this.ā€ Thatā€™s huge in persuasion and credibility terms. Huge because never mind Cohenā€™s credibility, everyone including his supporters knows Trump is crooked as a dogā€™s hind leg.
