Discussion: CNN Report: Joe Biden Meets Privately With Elizabeth Warren In DC

Discussion for article #239685

Or, maybe it’s just a Vice President meeting with a Senator to talk about, y’know, stuff.

Only one question.

Was Trump there?

Then this isn’t news.

But that would mean the media is over hyping something… they would never do that.

Please don’t tell me a freshmen Senator is trying to play king maker. Biden just get in or don’t. If you do I am with you if you don’t please just say so. Either way to me its Biden or Bernie. HRC is to much of a wild card with the public.

She’s a “wild card”? Well then, our Media Glitterati has done its job well if you think that, sir. I have often thought that Hillary’s greatest opponents are people in her own party, who just can’t stand anyone named “Clinton.”

What an opportunity it was for Dems, liberals and EmoProgs, to actually show some discipline around a candidate who can fight. Instead, we have classic left wing spinelessness on full display: “anyone but Hillary.” So you white, ageing libs flock to Bernie Nader rallies (while mocking white, ageing conservatives as a “dying breed” without the slightest irony) after lighting a candle under a picture of your patron saint Elizabeth Warren like she’s Joan of Arc.

Enough with your political messianism, EmoProgs.

Yep! And the Sunday talk shows certainly won’t mention this at all since they never like to stir up a story to dig at the Democrats.

First of all this is according to CNN, (faux news 2) but if Liz is being asked to be his running mate that would shake everyone up. The thought makes me deliriously giddy.

If Biden chooses to run in 2016, he will be the sixth major candidate competing for the Democrat nomination.

With all due respect to Mr. Chafee, Mr. O’Malley, and Mr. Webb I seriously doubt that there are currently five “major” candidates who have a more or less even chance of winning the nomination.

And what the heck is “the Democrat nomination”?? Since when does TPM use the language of RWNJs? Did I miss the memo where it says that “Democrat Party” is now an acceptable term?

She was for the war before she was against the war. She said McCain was ready to be Commander in Chief but not Obama. Clintons and Bushes are dead weight to both of their parties. The country is ready to move on from these two families. Why do you think she lost to Obama in '08? Its because me and my liberal and progressive friends stood up and said nope she will not take my party back to the freaking '90s. And have you ever thought about the ads that will be run against her in the general. Bosnia snipers, travel gate, whitewater, the fact that she carpet bagged herself in to being a NY Senator because she couldn’t when in her home state of AR. And now she can’t get in front of this damn email crap. She doesn’t know how to do anything but react after the fact. Yeah she comes with a little bit of a wild card flavor don’t ya think. I refused to be shouted down in '08 and I will not be shouted down in '16.

Liz as Veep…what a colossal waste of her talent.

Look…where is Biden going to get the money and organization he needs to run at this late date? Clinton has both locked up and is running hard on the ground with a field organization that is the envy of everyone else.

Biden has tried for the office before and failed.

Joe has performed well in an awful job as Veep and served Obama very well in that role, particularly as an advisor, and he is generally liked and popular.

But much of this is people talking and feeding stories to reporters who love nothing more than stories on political intrigues and insider baseball as opposed to actually trying to get candidates to explain their positions. Bernie Sanders has been excellent at calling the press on this stuff and I encourage him to continue doing so.

Liz Warren can accomplish a hundred times more in a Senate leadership and major committee position than she ever can as a Veep. She is also wise enough to realize this is not the time for her to run as President. Stop the fantasies that Warren as Veep would be any real use of her talent and skills.

She needs to aim to become the Majority Leader of the Senate. Biden should run if he wants too but you are right she can do so much more in the Senate than she could as VEEP. One thing I will add about Biden tho, there seems to be some substance to the stories that if he gets in some of the quite HRC supporters in the DNC and congress might just think about jumping on to Biden as a way to “extend” Obama term as POTUS.

You have your opinion I have mine.

Um she has already endorsed a candidate for President. She signed the letter from Democratic Women in the Senate urging Hillary Clinton to run/endorsing her. So yeah…

That was my reaction to the story. Geesh, media people love to make mountains out of molehills.

Hey changing your mind is a long held tradition in the Democratic party. Not like HRC hasn’t been on both side of just about every major issue since birth. Can’t trust a “Goldwater Girl”.

My sincere hope is that the Democartic party heads have a real come to jesus moment in all this and makes sure we run a perfect campaign without a lot of divisiveness - stay on message and do not let any of the pukesters off the hook for a moment. The GOPers may have a bunch of terrible non-electable candidates, but someone is going to become their candidate and we need to have our guns blazing. The one thing they do better than us is messaging and lying about their messages. And they vote. I do believe however, that the sane members of the Republican party are out there even though they may be in hiding, will never vote for any of these candidates except Jeb Bush if he makes it. I know a few myself who said they may not vote or will vote for the dem nominee to make sure this version of the republican party gets beaten so bad, the sane republicans can take their party back,

I believe we can win but I am concerned about dirty tricks and all of the disenfranchised voters that will not be able to vote in this election thanks to the dirty tricksters.

She was a “Goldwater Girl” as a young person. No doubt in my mind she has evolved like so many of us. She is probably our best bet to win

I agree. But is HRC ready to go PUMA on us again like she started to until Obama offered her SOS if he became POTUS. Bernie has done the right thing by running for the Democratic Nod and not as an Indy. My question to HRC is are you ready to make nice if you lose the nod again? Because there is no new job in the Admin waiting for her this time.
