It tells you something that Trump didn’t try that with Ailes.

That is good to hear.

But, Variety? CNN is a news organization. Why didn’t they just say so themselves?

The fact that they’re not willing to pay The Donald PROVES that they’re liberals.

And Trump will be there. His handlers are at the moment crafting a platitude to cover this mess and get him on stage without a check.

Fuck this idiocy. t-Rump will be there…if only to show scorn to ‘liberal’ CNN and create another spectacle he feels he can capitalize on. It worked with going after CNBC…Guaranteed its about to happen again as GOP debate numbers have slipped some. Its all they got to keep teh CRAZY going, beyond the usual diatribes. No solutions. No plans. Haven’t heard one yet to-date from a single one of these GOP assholes. The GOP debates are all about exciting the base with whatever putrid red meat they can scrounge up anyway.

Maybe they were the only journalistic entity of any sort who thought to ask somebody other than Trump.

Maybe Donald can stream his own debate, host it and debate himself all with the office video cam he won’t use for ABC, CBS, CNN, NBC and FOX?

"We do not pay candidates to appear,” Zucker was quoted as saying.

But, we do have the producers of our reality shows watching the debates to identify good prospects to contact as they drop out of the race.

Hell, I’ll kick in a dollar or two to make sure the Libidinous Visitor does NOT pollute my TV screen. Anyone else in on this? I’ll post a new Kickstarter…

Trump needs the debate. The debate does not need Trump.

"“We do not pay candidates to appear,” Zucker was quoted as saying.”

He then added “But be sure Tea Partiers, we will certainly invite him on our talk shows so Wolf Blitzer can toss softball questions to him so we do not embarrass him. After all, we were the first to give the Tea Party a big soapbox by sponsoring their debates! We love to give racists lots of free publicity!” /s

I think they should turn it around on Donald and the candidates should have to pay to go by giving to some charity.

“Well, of course we’re not going to pay him!”, said Mr. Zucker, the same executive who believes Don Lemon is the greatest journalist since Edward R. Murrow and that S.E.Cupp is the reincarnation of Janet Flanner. “Besides, why should we pay him $5M when we already give him $25M worth of free publicity?”

This was an attempted power play and it failed. He told CNN to jump, and they didn’t ask, “how high?”

So far no reaction from Trump, which is completely expected. CNN is calling his implicit bluff. They lose if Trump’s not in the debate, but Trump loses a lot more, and CNN is betting he’ll cave.

The whole thing just makes him look even more like the sham he is.
