Drumpf in a nutshell…
There’s way too many Hispanics n AZ that are not being polled by this poll.
That might be true; I went to the crosstabs and the poll did not break down the Hispanic vote—all they had was “N/A”! They just broke down the vote between white and non-white.
However, as of the 2010 census, the Hispanic population was about 30%, and the white population was about 58%. The under-registration and under-voting of Hispanics is a well-recognized problem that Democrats are working hard to remedy, but even if turnout of HIspanics went to improbably large percentages, that alone wouldn’t be enough to defeat Trump. Clinton will need a healthy percentage of white AZ voters, and it’s not a given she can get them. There are a lot of crazy old white people in AZ.
I’m not impressed. For one thing a lot of those Gary Johnson people vote for Trump in the end. Looks like a pretty ordinary 10-12 point win for the Republicans.
Too bad, because I was hoping they could take out McCain. He’s coattails proof this year. Leave it to Trump to make everyone feel sorry for him. Yet, McCain hasn’t unendorsed Trump so his supporters aren’t mad. Supposedly the Dems have a decent candidate this year, but usually the Arizona Dems get someone who looks good on paper who flames out in the campaign.
I’ll be in Charlottesville next week to register voters. Leaving Tuesday after Labor Day.
That’s cool. Are you with the national DNC? Though it’s still a fairly small city, we’re going gangbusters with growth of all kinds. Everywhere you look, there’s construction. Where will you be staying?
I’ll be there with the Democratic Party of VA.
The office is @ 112 W. Main St., one block from the Omni. https://goo.gl/maps/UptPVAx29iC2.
I found the volunteer coordinator on this page (http://cvilledems.org/wp-content/uploads/2016/07/DPVA_volunteering.pdf) PDF, not a download. Drop by. I’m sure they can use another pair of hands, even for short stints.
Staying with cousins out in the county, 20 minutes away. My In-Laws moved down there about 5 years ago, and you can see the change, esp. on Rte 29.
