Certainly a possibility AND there is the fact that some of the GOP/Teatroll Senators have to play nicey-nice for the next two years because they face a tough re-election scenario BUT they still have to deal with people like Cruz in the Senate and all the crazy Teatroll southern racist conservative folks outside the Senate who will be very loudly saying things the ones with re-election worries wished they wouldn’t. If Reid pushes it and forces her confirmation during the lame duck, large swaths of GOPerland are going to set their hair on fire over it, even if most of the conservative Senate caucus is able to control themselves enough to let this one slide. And the best part will be if they do manage to control themselves and let it slide: their base will pillory them for it, which just as effectively announces to the minority community “DON’T BE FUCKING FOOLED.”
